What to feed one year old for lunch in park?

Hi When we go my youngest will be just one. I was wondering what you did about feeding them lunch at the counter service places? I don't really want to feed her chicken nuggets every day. Did you bring lunch or did you find some stuff to feed them that wasn't that bad?

Thanks!

I fed my 1 yr old what ever I was eating. He likes chicken nuggets, but he'd rather have a salad, so I just gave him what ever I was eating. That way he never had to have the same thing over and over again.

I have an almost 1 yo. Ill make sure I order things I can share. Sandwich, soup, sliced tomatoes, cheese, breads or crackers, mac and cheese, chicken, rice. I will also bring cheerios and grapes or bananas. I looked over some menus to get an idea of places he can get good food too.

When my son was 1 (well he still is, we went in Jan) he was so over baby food. So I always just gave him a little of whatever everyone else was eating. He enjoyed grapes (annoying to cut with plastic knife) pizza, nuggets, french fries, taco salad, rotisserie chicken, waffles, sandwich wraps, carrots, etc. I also kept dried fruit, yogurt melts, crackers, and other healthy type snack things in the diaper bag to supplement the meal. Just pay attention to the sides on menus because at first glance french fries comes with just about everything. It is fine once in a while but I didn't want my son to fill up on fries for every meal which is easy to do. I think my son enjoyed the variety too. You should be fine. Remember that your baby won't starve him/herself, just offer good choices and they will eat.

Thanks! She is still on baby food (bad acid reflux and she is only 8 months) and my oldest is almost 6 so I can't even remember what a one year old eats for lunch!

He got whatever we were eating. He got apple/orange slices too that we took into the park with us in a little container. He really thought the Churros (sp) from Mexico were good...LOL that was a treat for him. He did enjoy the food from the buffett at Crystal Palace too.

We just got back. We ordered some groceries so we got her favourites - avocados, bananas and yogurt. And then she just ate off our plates.
It was easy in the buffets because there is tons of stuff, and in the other restaurants they often made suggestions for us (which I thought was nice). She really loved the mac & cheese.
I was surprised how much stuff we found for her.

My 1 year old couldn't eat a whole kids meal so I gave him stuff off my plate. He liked bits of hamburger, salads, and grilled chicken. I think his favourite was the chicken taco in Mexico. The one time we ordered a chicken nugget kid's meal it was enough food for both of us!

Unfortunately he started teething halfway through the trip and stopped eating, but before that it was pretty easy feeding him.

My 10 month old ate what we ate - not one chicken nugget.

He loves hamburger (takes after his Daddy). And I really tried to get fruit instead of french fries (which he preferred). Buffetts are good with the little ones, I think.

And like someone else said, I took some of the Gerber snack type foods to plump up the meal (or just in case he decided not to eat something he normally likes).

Almost all of the counter-service restaurants offer grapes, applesauce, and jello (these are choices with the kids' meals but can also be ordered ala carte). At many of the larger shops in all the theme parks, Smuckers "uncrustables" are available for purchase as well.

Another little-known fact which was helpful to us is that when ordering at a counter-service restaurant, you can order an extra bun/sandwich bread -- this is actually on Disney's cash registers, and it is about $1. That was helpful to us.

One of our favorite counter-service restaurants for our toddler is the one adjacent to Pecos Bill's and across from Pirates of the Caribbean at MK. You can order a quesadilla kids' meal and their toppings bar has lots of choices to please your little one.

Go to www.allearsnet.com for menus at all restaurants as well.
