What to expect for DL's 60th anniversary in 2015 (Starting May 22)

Peeking at a thread over on MiceChat I noticed that Dustysage mentioned that during the Q&A that took place tonight at DL, it was stated that the Christmas fireworks will not be happening this year (which we expected to be the case).

Then, apparently someone asked about the Christmas Fantasy Parade, and whoever was tackling the questions at the Q&A said that they don't know yet (about the status of the parade).

My guess is... no Christmas Fantasy Parade this year (along with no Believe in Holiday Magic fireworks).

As for Halloween Screams? Halloween Time is getting very 'thin' in terms of décor and overall entertainment, so removing HS from the line-up will put a big dent in the season and in the parties, but if there is a Halloween-themed WoC in the works (and if they finally, finally decide to whip out the long-delayed TSMM Halloween overlay), then DCA could actually have some Halloween fun once again.

The Halloween party ran for 5 years (2005-2009) in DCA. Then it ran for 5 years (2010-2014) in DL. I think it's time for the MHP to move back to DCA -- at least this year.

I didn't expect BIHM fireworks to run this year after RDCT ran during the holiday season back in 2005 during the 50th anniversary.

That will be very interesting if A Christmas Fantasy parade is going to play this year where BIHM won't be running. I am wondering what will be playing during the daytime parade in the afternoon during the Holiday season? Will they run Mickey's Soundsational Parade or nothing? Paint the Night parade will be playing at night and what will be playing in the afternoon? There is a lot of questions of what is going to happen this year but we will wait and see what Disney will announce.

It will be nice to have the Halloween party back at DCA. It does make sense to have the party at DCA this year with the 60th anniversary going on. Having a WoC theme type show will be great along with a TSMM Halloween overlay especially with "Toy Story of Terror" special in 2013.

That's a very good point -- about a daytime parade during the holidays. And that could be a scenario that happens too -- maybe just running Soundsational. Hmmm... One way or the other, A Christmas Fantasy Parade will be impacted by the presence of Paint the Night, but it could be reduced to happening in the daytime only (so the people who take the daytime holiday tours can still see it), or it could be removed from the 2015 holiday line-up entirely, and then return in 2016.

And what about the Winter Castle? Is it going to be snow-covered this year, even with all of the diamonds?:confused3 As you said, there are a lot of questions still unanswered about the new and old entertainment!

I can live without the holidays fireworks and WOC, but oh how I hope your guess about the Christmas Fantasy Parade being daytime only is correct! I can't wait to see Paint the Night, but I just love the Christmas parade and it wouldn't be the same without it!

The setup for the new fireworks sounds so huge, I can't imagine switching it out for holiday fireworks (Halloween or Christmas)... I am inclined to agree that the Halloween party will be in DCA and they will do maybe Halloween WoC or maybe just an opening that is halloweenish and the new woc... Like we saw for Christmas a couple years ago.

The whole thing is crazy exciting! For once I feel like I totally planned my trip timing right! And the parade pics look so amazing-the Mac truck! :dance3:

I am on the flip side soooo bummed out for friends that will be there this weekend with their kiddos... Their first visit. Hopefully it will encourage them to save up for another visit. But between the castle being covered and so much closed, I am pretty sad for them :sad1:

We're there Sun-Fri in October, and I was wondering what we'd be doing on the nights we don't catch WOC and Screamin'.

I am REALLY hoping for a Halloween party and fireworks AND the 60th anniversary fireworks.

Too much to ask for fireworks and entertainment every.single.night? Ha! ;)

I am so excited! I'll be there in August. I wonder how terrible it will be trying to get a spot to watch these things happening!

That's what I was wondering too. Main Street will probably be packed from one end to the other, just like New Years Eve, during the fireworks! I can't wait!!:thumbsup2

Depending on when in October, you could very easily be choosing between fireworks, fantasmic, woc and hopefully the new nighttime parade... Except for the quietest times of the year, there is usually something every nite. Just not always fireworks, because DL is in a residential area and that is annoying for the locals to have to put up with fireworks every night of the year :) but woc and f! Are quieter shows.

Is Paint the Night an import from one of the Asian Disney Parks?

We will be there May 17th - 22nd. Just missing it.

I'm wondering if anything would be closed to get ready for this the week of??

It will be very interesting to see what Disney will do during the holiday season with the daytime parade if Paint the Night parade will be running at night. To have A Christmas Fantasy for the daytime and Paint the Night at night during the holiday season would be great and also different performers for each parade. But just like at the MK which have the ELP and Festival of Fantasy parade. Or will it be Soundsational or no daytime parade until the nighttime.

I was also curious of what will happen with SB Winter Castle as well. There are a lot of unanswered questions that are going to be asked this whole year with the 60th anniversary.

Oh YAY! I'm a planner, so waiting to see what the evening schedules will be like is driving me a little :crazy2:

Just had a friend ask me for a recommendation of where to stay in August... I might have just blown her mind about the new everything that was just announced. I hope they spring for onsite for the early entry at the least, I think they may need that extra hour, I think it might be very very busy! :crowded:

The only thing is with all the new fun evening entertainment it may be hard to get everybody up and going for that early hour...especially if you have little ones!

Sherry - thanks for the video. I'm so excited for all the new entertainments. We watched the night parade in HK and it was amazing. Can't wait for our next trip later this year.

Paint the Night looks like it is going to be amazing! I've read mixed reviews about it, but we'll see...

That's true... Her kids will be 8th, 6th and 1st grades... Might be that the 1st grader will be passed out before the fireworks end for the night lol

Isn't there "paint the night" stuff? Like Mickey hands and magic wands? I thought I read that once upon a time. Like the Woc ear hats, but better?
