Does anyone have any thoughts on how to space out the CS meal, TS meal and snacks so that we feel like we're getting 3 meals out of it (aka, not hungry and spending $ out of pocket)? Not sure if this is even possible, but I'm guessing that we may have to buy breakfast each day?? I'm new to the whole DDP idea and don't want to plan too much food in one space of time, but don't want the troops hungry!

Thanks!

Hello and welcome!

We get the DDP and love it. Once buying it and now twice for free!! Got to love it.

Anyway, we are very "good" eaters and do fine on this plan. Yes we spend a bit more OOP but between DH and I only about $15 or so a day. (that amount includes at least 2 bottles of water for me as well)

Now onto what we do.

We eat pretty much like we do at home, keeping meal times as close as possible to our normal schedule. Since we aren't big breakfast eaters on a 7 day trip we will split a CS breakfast at the resort about 3 times.
The other days we will use a snack credit or eat a granola bar we have brought with us from home.

Lunch is scheduled between 11:30 and 12:30 for us. That is when we use our CS credits.

Dinner is usually planned for around 5-6pm. (that is if I get the time I want, which I have only had 2 times I had to take a later time...not fun for us as we like to eat way before bed time)

If we are doing a late night (EMH) sometimes we will get another (2nd) snack for the day.

All in all it works out well for us. Another thing we do is, a buffet every other day or so. Not only is that a big meal but we do love the characters.

Enjoy your trip!! :)

The above poster works the plan the way we do.

I don't eat breakfast. My hubby and son split a CS breakfast at the resort around 7am.
We order 2 CS lunches around 12 and split them 3 ways. I may add a snack side item to this on our next trip.
TS dinner around 5:30 or so.

My only issue in the past was having too many snack credits left over and having to bring the snacks home. This time around, I'm going to "waste" those credits on things like lattes, because, in the end, the plan is just too much food for us. Our son is 11. He can't eat an adults portion of food. So, we learned quickly to split those meals. :thumbsup2

Thanks ladies! The splitting of meals is an awesome idea! I was worried about leftovers, etc, but if we just split, that makes a whole ton of sense and will help our credits! :) And, I already thought of bringing some breakfast snacks from home to help out.

Thanks! :) Now on to making the ADRs! :cool1:
