traditionally, during the wedding ceremony what do I do with my engagement ring? do I wear it on my right hand until I get the wedding band on and then add it to it? (I have a ring set that fits together as one).

Thanks!

I put my engagement ring on my right hand before the ceremony and then put it back on my left hand afterwards. I *think* this is the traditional way to do it.

A friend of mine whose rings fit together in a set just had her DH put both of them on her finger during the ceremony. Since they are a set, the wedding band didn't quite fit on her hand right without the engagement ring, so this worked for best for her.

I put my ering on my right hand and then after the ceremony before we walked out and our guest pelted us with birdseed :) , my husband switched my ering to my left hand. The photographer photographed it...it was a beautiful moment.

My engagement ring and wedding ring fit together and are a set, but I moved the engagement ring to my right hand for the ceremony. I then switched it back right after we walked back down the aisle so I had the set together for pictures.

I will be wearing mine on my right hand and after the ring exchange we have a part in our ceremony that says something along the lines of "now that the promise has been fulfilled and the intent realized, please place her engagement ring above the band to always sustain and protect your marriage" (something like that I am not looking at vows right now) and I think this is really sweet.

mine fit together and i gave both rings to my husband to put on me during the ceremony so i didn't worry about switching it at all. Worked out perfectly. I wore my grandmothers engagement ring on my right hand as my something old.

UM I meant to put mine on my right hand and forgot...oops. it was ok though! I have 2 small diamond bands that fit on each side of my ring anyway ...so there would have been switching around no matter what!
