This is a very random questoin. I have some furniture that is 90ish years old. The wood is really beautiful and in good shape, but the springs and velvet it was upholstered with are not so hot. Do antique stores buy couches and chairs that need reupholstering? I wouldn't even be against giving it away, I just don't think it's in a condition to give to charity or anything. Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks.

I forgot to say I don't think it should be thrown away because it is antique and that just seems wrong.

I'm in the business and yes, most antique dealers would be very interested in a 1900's couch. Most of us know a good restorer or upholsterer. If the wood is in decent shape you should surely find someone who will buy it from you. I would take a photo of the couch and take the photo around to the dealers and shops in your area. Good luck!

people would be willing to buy antiques even if they are in bad shape. Advertise them.
