What to do with a kid who goes to the bathroom constantly?

Oldest DD just read the first post over my shoulder, and stated "he should go to WDW with Papa (her grandfather)". My father-in-law went to the mens' room at WDW every five minutes! We joked that he was on a special potty tour... :rotfl:

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: Special potty tour....hehe! My parents say I have seen the inside of every restaurant in the United States. Thank goodness I grew out of that.

My sister didn't have to go every 10 minutes, but she did pretty much have to use the restroom in every building she ever entered until she was in Jr high or so. As a little kid, she must have internalized the building codes for restaurants and shops by osmosis because to this day she can, without thinking, immediately direct you to a restroom in any kind of establishment, even if she's never been there before!

My DD7's teacher asked me if she had trouble going to the bathroom, because for two weeks straight she was asking to go 5-6 times a day, in addition to the class bathroom breaks. She was being conditioned to go more often than she needed to.

That night, I told my daughter that I was giving her 50 cents -- 2 quarters -- a day. Each time she needs to go to the bathroom during regular class time, she has to give her teacher a quarter (I also told the teacher what I was doing). If she doesn't use the quarters, she can keep them.

In 6 weeks, she has never again needed to go to the bathroom outside of the regular class breaks.

Amen. My daughter's been the same way, to some extent. We've solved the problem at school, and now we're working on restaurants, etc. I've often told my husband that I want to do a coffee-table picture book "Bathrooms Across America."

My problem is a extra small badder and of course it runs in the family!!

I had to sit by the classroom door and go after Instructions for class work were given, there were many many barely made it moments, Which takes longer because you have to figure out a way to dry you clothes and how you are going to cover the smell.

To this day the hardest times for me is in the evenings, I pee every 10 - 15 minutes. And I pee alot each time!!

I have NEVER figured out how 12 oz coke, turns in to 2 gallons of pee?? [And water is wayyyyyyy worse!!!] IT has to come out no matter what my feelings on the subject are, or how hard I try to stop it, it's coming Baby so get out of the way, Cuz the last thing I want is wet pants!! And don't try to delay me or you'll be swimming in it to!!

One Day at Epoct I had to trek across the area under the Earth ball from the Living area 7 times!! I WAS SO MAD, I couldn't even make it to a ride line. And I hadn't even had anything to drink yet that morning???

It is very trying, I have to know where the bathrooms are and I have to go at the 1st urge or it all over!!

I now have 2 diseases that make it impossable to try medications. I had got some control after many year.

But I was hopitalized recently and because I had to pee several times they put in a catheter for 36 hours. I now I have last all control, again, I'm going to have to carry extra clothes, wipes, ziplock bags and buy perfume, and a backpack, again!!

Do you Even Know how Humilitating this is??? For my whole life!!

I am a continence nurse specialist here in the UK. Although I have skimmed over the posts here, I know I can probably help you as I deal with many situations like yours. As a nurse, we look much more into the holistic and lifestyle picture as the cause is often easily discovered by using conservative investigations. Likewise the treatment is often very simple> If it does need to be more specialised, having holistic and lifestyle advice greatly improves the success of the treatment. Doctors (ones in the UK anyway) tend to forget simple lifestyle effects and treatments, leading to either uneccesary specialist treatment, or being told nothing can be done but being left with the symptoms. If you think I can be of any help, don't hesitate to ask.
