What to do with 1-day tickets needed to book special packages?

So, we're getting free dining by booking a package at ASMo, but we had to get 1-day, 1-park tickets for everyone in the family in order to get that package... we don't plan on using them then because we'll have AP's from our July trip...

So, I know we can save these tickets to upgrade to other tickets on other trips, but what if all our future trips require the purchase of tickets? (I know it's not likely for all of our future trips, but stay with me on this one... a hypothetical situation, if you will...)

Do these tickets get issued with our specific names on them? Or can we give them to friends on future trips?

Can they be changed/upgraded to water park or Disney Quest tickets/Annual Passes? (Not premium APs, but just WP/DQ APs?)

Just curious how everyone handles these babies...

Hi
I might be able to help you with this question: Yes each ticket/room key has
the name of each person booked into your room. I was also wondering if I have a few of these 1 day passes could i put them together and buy just one pass and I was told no, one 1 day pass per upgraded ticket or AP. A cm also told me that you could give them to anyone to use because of the fact that it is a one day ticket and the first person to use it will be the only person so you wouldn't have to worry about the finger scan etc, so I would think you could give them away, maybe someone else has some experience on this and can give you more information on it.

Yes, you can give it away, and the person to whom you give it can also upgrade it or do whatever he/she wants to do to it. It doesn't matter that your name is on the KTTW card. But if you're concerned, just go to any Guest Relations and they'll take it off your KTTW card and give you a regular ticket, that doesn't have a name on it.

I think the ticket is only good for the length of your stay. Unless you purchase the no-expiration option, which may not be worth it on a 1-day ticket. Anyone know if this is correct?

Can you use the 1 day ticket to upgrade to an AP at the Shades of Green? (and still get the military discount on an AP?)

Not true. Once you check in, your ticket is no longer connected to your stay. It's a ticket just like any other not bought with a package. Many years ago, tickets were tied to length of stay for some packages, and equalled the number of nights you stayed, but no longer. That's why you only need to buy a 1 day ticket, regardless of how long you're staying.

And you can't buy "no expiration" for a 1 day ticket, since a ticket doesn't "expire" until it's first used. One day tickets are, by definition, non-expiring.

Thanks! I did not know that.
So, can I purchase the FD pkg with a 1-day ticket, and then upgrade to an annual pass after I check in?

Yes. That's what I am doing. Just take your 1-day ticket to any guest relations at a park to upgrade and you will pay the difference.

Fast responses... cool! :thumbsup2

So I should be able to give the tickets to other people... and they can either use them as is or upgrade them to add days, options, or become APs whenever they come at any point in the future (even years down the line), correct?

Now... about my other question...

Can you upgrade these 1-day tickets to APs for the water parks?

Yes, I believe that I have read before that an unused one day ticket can be used towards the purchase of an WP annual pass.

I didn't know there was a WP AP? Or, do you mean buying the Premium AP, that includes the WP?

Goody! I hope someone else can verify with more certainty.

No, not premium... there are separate combinations too... WP AP, DQ AP & WP/DQ AP... http://www.mousesavers.com/wdwticketprices.html
