Can't stand this flight price game!!

Prices are expected to go up b/c of oil prices, we go in October so need tix for 6 of us from YYZ if we can get a decent price ($417 per person taxes in is the best I can get so far) or from BUF if their price is ok ($290Canadian is about the best I can find there but you need to add in 2 hotel rooms and food for a day - plus all the shopping mil will surely do  )

Wait and take chances or go ahead and book? Southwest rack rates for Sept seem fairly expensive at $132 per person and most of the dings lately have been for mid week. Anyone have a crystal ball to tell me what's going to happen??

Driving is NOT an option - my kids wouldn't make it unless I could put them in a roof carrier - plus I just don't want to take that much time out of my vacation!

sigh - can't take all this stress

What are all the other's that are going in October doing??

IMHO, I can't see southwest charging $132 each way plus taxes for an October BUF-MCO flight. That is off season and I think that the last two years they have offered October sales for about $59 per flight segment BUF-MCO. But if they have another October sale, the sale won't occur until a couple months (just a guess) prior to flight time.

Have you checked air tran and jetblue? I think one of these carriers is already showing prices until mid-Dec.

I am looking to fly around Christmas time and I am worried. Iam looking at these $132 prices (for September with SWA) and thinking...o my gosh what will I be into for Christmas time flights !!!!!

And about DING, I also wouldn't count on it for weekend travel. Not positive, but I dont think they have had a weekend MCO-BUF DING since Feb. All mid-week stuff now!

We don't leave until next March however with the rumours of flight increases around the corner I had to start watching the fares as soon as they came out.

We are a family of 5 from Nova Scotia and out of YYZ (Halifax) Air Canada wants $4000+ while CanJet and Westjet want $3200-$3800. I know from watching the fares the past few months the best I'd do (if i'm lucky) was $3000, and that's with a stop in Toronto and with seat sales.

I thought I'd check across the border and sure enough out of Boston I found $1409.00 CND for 5 return tickets to MCO and that's direct both ways. We aslo found the Comfort Inn Boston who's charging us 149 US for 1 nights stay which included leaving our van there for 14 days as well as shuttles to and from the airport. Needless to say I grabbed the tickets a couple of nights ago and booked the Comfort Inn for our park, stay and fly package.

I'd much rather drive 45 minutes to our local airport...but saving that kind of money makes a 10 hour drive worth it.. ;)

I say if you find a good deal grab it now while you can.

We're also planning for October departure but I'm waiting for some great DING's from Southwest.I won't fly YYZ again. :)

I am kinda going through the same thing. We are hoping to fit the MNNSHP into our thanksgiving(Canadian) weekend trip so I have been monitoring the fare too and I was a little shocked at the regular prices listed for Sept. I usually buy sale fares but because this is Columbus day weekend in the States I figure I am going to have to get seats right away for the Thursday departure/Monday return. Oh well, If I have to pay it I will, my DH and I are so pumped because we are going to surprise the kids with this one. He cannot get anymore time off work so the kids don't think we are going anywhere anytime soon! (hehehe). I know the prices are not even out from Southwest for early Oct yet but I am speculating and it is hard to wait!!! I hope I can do better than 132 one way!
