What to do stroller wise?

We took our son at almost 3 and rented from Kingdom Strollers. The experience was amazing and the stroller was top notch. If I was going to cut somewhere on vacation, the stroller wouldn't be it. We didn't want to worry about ours getting damaged and didn't want to lug it around the airport. Our son did great walking on his own and carrying his own little roller bag in the airport but we got a lot more done in the parks with a stroller. It was also key for carrying all of our stuff with us. It was $60 for 4-7 nights and they gave us a Citi Mini which was amazing, so easy to collapse for the buses.

We live very close to a large theme park and still bring our stroller with us even though DS walks most of the time. There's so much ground to cover- we walked miles and miles in WDW, I would rather have the peace of mind knowing that we can throw DS in the stroller if we need to. Also our son is quite heavy at almost 40 lbs at 3.5. I can barely carry him halfway around our neighborhood if I needed to, which is only 0.2 miles! :rotfl:
^This exactly^

We just returned from a 9-day trip and rented a Citi-Mini from Kingdom Strollers. It was waiting for us as promised on arrival. Stroller was clean and in good condition. Included with the stroller was a rain cover, and a small canvas drink cooler. We also added 2 cases of water but found out that was available for purchase at our resort for a couple dollars less than we paid. No big deal though.

We did bring an umbrella stroller with us as well but that was only to use at the airport.

We quickly learned that Disney World is a proving-ground of sorts for strollers. We walked countless miles, folded and unfolded MANY times, hopped curbs, etc. with this thing and it stood up to the test.

The in-park strollers that Disney rents are big, bulky and look very uncomfortable to sit in for any long period of time. Also they can't be taken out of the park. So if you need one for traveling to/from your resort this is not a very good option IMO.

One tip that we found very helpful was to attach something to your stroller that will make it easy to distinguish from other strollers. ESPECIALLY IN THE DARK. When leaving your stroller in the stroller parking areas sometimes there is a Castmember there that will shuffle them around with the intention of keeping the area neat and orderly. Often times when we returned from an attraction our stroller was not in the exact place we left it. This could make it difficult to find it in a virtual sea of strollers. We brought a set of battery operated Christmas lights and wrapped them around the handles. This made it much easier to find ours, especially in the dark. Also the glow stick bracelets from your local dollar store would work just as well.
