Going to WDW in December, and we will be leaving for home on a Saturday. Flight is at 2:30. That means we have to be at the airport by noon. Of course, that morning we will be packing our bags, having breakfast and lunch, checking out of the hotel (All-Stars). Will we have time to do something special before we go? Or is our morning pretty much full?

With having to leave before noon, I don't even think I'd try to plan to do anything. Check out isn't until 11, so I say sleep in, take it easy, enjoy the resort one last time and then head to the airport. Maybe buy some last minute souveniers at the resort gift shop.

Assuming you have a car, I'd plan to have a big breakfast, maybe a character breakfast. Remember, airlines rarely feed you much anymore, so end your vacation with an enjoyable, big breakfast.

We always make Downtown Disney our last stop before leaving...but we always drive & have our van. I'm not sure if this would be feasible for you, me having never used Disney transportation.

Unless it is an international flight, I don't think I'd get there at noon for a 2:30 flight. 1 PM should be plenty of time. Now, you have an extra magic hour all your own! :cool1:

same here :goodvibes

In lieu of that I woul go to a character breakfast....

I agree with the breakfast idea. There are so many places in the parks and at the resorts that serve a good breastfast. If you don't want to go to a park for breakfast, you can have a nice sit-down breakfast at the Grand Floridian Cafe and Concourse Steakhouse. There are also many places where you can eat an all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet with characters. The options are nearly endless.

It's not an international flight, so maybe we don't need to be there right at noon, but no later than 1. The breakfast sounds good, but we won't have a car. So where can we have a good breakfast, coming to and from All-Star Movies, and using Disney transportation, without being late for our Magic Express shuttle to the airport?

whenever dh and i drive to FL- it is tradition on our last day before we drive home is to do breakfast the the Councourse Steakhouse and make sure we get our.......STICKEY MICKEY!!!

our flight is at 5:30 PM - we are planning breakfast at the Crystal Palaca and a few hours in the MK before going back to get ME to the airport - I am thinking about not taking ME and using a limo instead so we can stay longer.....

When I have an early, noon or before, arrival time at the airport, I like to just hang at the resort. Have a last swim, eat something, buy some more stuff that I really don't need. But, if you can get a really early seating at Cape May's breakfast, that's the one we like to go to. You would be best served though if you got a cab to get there and back. It's a fun breakfast and only takes about an hour, tops. Pack the night before you leave..that will free up some time also.

Since you are using Magical Express you will probably be scheduled for return to the airport between 11:00 and 11:30. I know it seems early, but thats the way they do things. I would either schedule a special early breakfast (Chef Mickey, Ohana, WCC, Cape May Buffet...) for an 8:00 ADR so I had plently of time to get back to the hotel - or - I would sleep in and get one last swim in before leaving. Have tons of fun :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

I agree with Shelley Baxter, if you are using DME your pick up time from your resort will be 2hours and 45minuts to 3hours before your scheduled flight.
Maggied, you really don't gain much time by using a Limo, since most Limo companies in our experience, also want to pick you up about 21/2 hours before your flight. That is a lot of extra money for 15-30 more minutes, IMO.
Security lines at MCO can be quite long.
In October, we slept in a bit later, packed and checked our bags and received our boarding passes in the lobby, and just enjoyed the resort (BC) and gift shop until our 11:45 pick up. I sat in a rocker on the front porch of the BC and soaked in all the atmosphere, one last time!

That is exactly what we did on our last trip (excpet our flight wasn't until 7pm). It was a great way to end the trip!

on our last trip, my daughter and I did the Lilo and Stitch character breakfast at O'hanas the last morning. It was easy to get to and back and made for a great end to the "girl's only" trip.

character breakfast and then get the kid's pixie dust at the barber shop to wear home.

We always try to sneak in a last hour or two at MK - have to say goodbye to Dumbo.

Thanks for the info about Magic Express picking you up three hours before your flight. That means 11:30 for us, not much time. We may just stay up late at the parks the night before, sleep in that morning and have a last dip in the pool.

If we do take a bus somewhere for breakfast, I'm looking at my map and see that the closest resorts to All-Star Movies are Animal Kingdom and MGM, although I don't really know how long the bus ride will take to those parks. The closest resorts for breakfast are Coronado Springs, although I don't know if that has a decent restaurant and if there is a direct bus route from our hotel to there. Disney's Wide World of Sports is next to All-Stars as well.

Maybe breakfast is cutting it close, though, so staying up late the night before might be better...

That's what we did last year. It was our one LATE night, we slept in, did breakfast a the resort and then swam and relaxed. We packed our bags before the swim and put our travel clothes in our carry-ons. When it was time to go we changed, got our luggage out of storage and were off! The kids loved the pool time. I think it was more fun because they didn't feel like they were missing out on park time "just to swim." We plan on the same thing this year...in 3 weeks! Yippee!

We like to go shopping pick up all those last minute souviners that you just can't live without..lol.This is also nice because the whole trip the kids look but don't buy and then decide on items they liked the best.
