what to do in Nassau, Bahamas???

Mycruise stops in Nassau. any suggestions of things to do besides Atlantis?shopping destinations?

If I found myself in Nassau again I would take a cab to Greycliff Chocolate factory, buy a bunch of yummy chocolates, then go back to the ship. Put the chocolates in my stateroom then go play on the ship.

There is a nice distillery withing walking distance of the port. That being said, the area between the port and distillery isn't the best. You should be able to take a cab for about ten dollars.

They have the typical rum there but they also have pink sand filtered vodka. That makes a good gift if you are looking.

We did the Graycliff Chocolatier - The Art of Chocolate Making and Factory Tour. It was fun - reminded me in a weird sort of way about the Lucy show where they got jobs making the chocolates.

Ah, but this is a person taking a Royal Caribbean cruise. They don't have that. (it's possible you can contact Graycliff and get some sort of tour independently, not sure) We did it through Disney while on a DCL cruise, and we also bought chocolates, and the purchased chocolates were infinitely better than what we made. So...take the cab and buy the chocolates when on a Royal cruise.

my last royal cruise to stop in nassau actually did have the chocolate tour offered. that was last year. i was shocked, as i'd only seen it on disney before. so i'd definitely check, if you're interested. graycliff also has a cigar factory that i think does tours, and a nice restaurant, so you could make a day of it.

if you want an easy beach day, we've also done a day pass at the british colonial hilton. it's maybe a 10 minute walk from the pier. the beach is nice, though it kind of skeeves me out that you're so close to where the ships dock - neat view, and i know ships are much cleaner than they used to be, but i do kind of wonder what's getting dumped a couple hundred feet from where i'm swimming. we just purchased the day pass at the front desk. i can't remember how much it was, but it was reasonable. it included a buffet lunch and use of their pool as well as their beach. they gave us towels and chairs. i would definitely do it again if i wanted a beach break.

You could also look at visiting the Atlantis depending on the amount of time you are in port. If you decide to go there, look at renting a day room at the comfort suites that is connected with the resort as you get full privileges and may be less than booking through the cruise line or with Atlantis itself.

Not sure if it's offered on your cruise, but we went on the Blue Lagoon excursion when we were on Allure. We were only there form 7am-2pm and so we were restricted with time, but they provided the ferry (right at the port) and then it ensured that we didn't miss the ship. Was a lovely way to spend a few hours...pretty calm beach, use of tubes, mats (aqua park is a bit extra), we watched the dolphins (they also have dolphin encounter), and bbq lunch.
