I'm thinking about booking Spirit of Aloha for our upcoming trip however, what if it gets cancelled due to weather? Obviously we can't make multiple reservations for dinner so any suggestions? Also, does it only get cancelled for thunderstorms or is it for any rain at all? TIA.

We were there in August and there was a torrential rain fall. The show started, but was cancelled after about 20mins. It became a 1 ts credit. The food was great! We had one extra ts so we used it at Teppan Edo--it was awesome too.

So they will still serve the food if its cancelled? I didn't realize that.

In January it rained all afternoon and we were worried that it would be cancelled. Club staff said it was rarely cancelled. It stopped raining by supper 5:15pm and show went on no problem. We really enjoyed it and plan to go again next year.

They do. Some people were angry because they came for the show not the food. I think if you think it will be cancelled due to weather, they may refund both table service credits. I'm not sure. They do definately serve the food. The show is cancelled not the food. When we were there I was surprised--It was full.

We had the same problem on our trip last August. We also were on the dining plan, unfortunately we had booked the Luau for our last night there, so ended up losing the 1 ts credit they gave back. As I remember, they offered the meal half price for cash customers as well.

They do indeed serve the food even if the show is cancelled. The show stage is in an uncovered area but the dining areas are under a covering.

In our case, it was raining so hard and lightning was horrible. It was so bad, they wouldn't even let us walk out to the luau from the lobby because of the lightning. It was so obvious there was no possible way they would do the show, yet they eventually walked us out to the site in small groups, served the food, THEN said there would be no show. At that point we were a "captive audience".

It was clear, they had cooked food and were going to get us to stay any way they could, weather or no weather.

In the end, it was OK. We would have never gotten into another decent TS on such short notice and the food was good.

Just make sure if you are on dining plan, don't book for the last night :)

Good question!
We were wondering the same thing about Mickeys Backyard BBQ.
