Hey guys. I am looking for some ideas. We disembark in Port Canaveral early when we return from our cruise. Our flight leaves around 8pm so we have a nice chunk of day to play with. Any suggestions? We will have a rental car in Port Canaveral and will return it to the Airport. So we will be pretty flexible.

I would love to hear your thoughts!

Thanks

1. Kennedy Space Center
2. Disney world
3. I honestly can't think of much but one things I would do is watch the ship leave port again. Although itd be pushing time, it's duable. I know there is a lot more out there, I'm just drawing a blank. Hopefully somebody else with be more of help, have fun!

We did Disney Springs. There's also the Florida Mall near the airport. Many people like shopping in the outlets. It really depends on what your family likes to do, ages, etc. You could stay and do a beach day, but then you might be all sandy when you're heading off to the airport. How about one of the water parks?

We drove back to Disney...didn't do a park day, but had lunch at (Downtown) Disney Springs, wandered around there a little, then drove over to Fantasia Gardens and played a round of mini golf, then headed back to MCO.

We have done a Disney Springs, after our cruise and after Vero Beach before a later flight.

There are so many new things to do and see in DS! That maybe a great choice.

Good luck!

We visited the Space Center and then did the IFly! (indoor skydiving) in Orlando.

We would've done this on our first cruise when we had a late flight out--but it was Feb. and too cold. We instead did Disney Springs and Disney Quest (although I hear they are closing down for good :sad1:). Universal Studios if you're tired of the mouse *gasp*!

Thanks for all the ideas. Please feel free to keep them coming!
Of course, be aware you're going to be up and off the ship early that morning. After several days of late nights and fun. There's always the option of a day room at the Hyatt. A couple of beds for napping, a pool for a swim. And restaurants (both at the Hyatt and in the airport) for eating.

We usually fly out at 5:30pm. Disney Springs is a great way to wind down but still have a final taste of Disney. We tend to just walk around and grab any last minute items we want. It tends to feel pretty relaxing. Kennedy Space Center is an amazing place, but I think it needs more time than a post cruise day.

You can head over to Disney and resport hop. Animal Kingdom Lodge has the animals right up close and personal. You could make an entire day there watching the giraffes!

We had a late flight our last cruise. We resort hopped from about 10-4. Parked at Wilderness Lodge, walked around the resort a bit there, took the boat to the Contemporary, took the monorail and walked around the Grand Floridian. Got back on the Monorail to Contemporary and took the boat back to Wilderness Lodge where we had lunch there at Trail's End. Then drove to Animal Kingdom Lodge where we enjoyed watching the animals for a couple of hours and walking around the resort. We had wanted to go to the Boardwalk as well but the lot was full for guests not staying at the resort because it was a holiday (MLK Day). It was a fun day of resort hopping to resorts we'd never been to (minus AKL).
