I know the drinking age is 21 on the ship so what can a 20 year old do? My sister-in-law is wondering if she will be able to get into the adult clubs in the evenings with her 22 year old fiance.

I also read somewhere that the drinking age in Cozumel and Grand Cayment is 18. Is that true?

our sons 20 and 18 joined us in july about all they did was play basket ball pick up games disney dosent have any thing for them to do the did go to towel and napkin folding as well as a cooking demo and bingo out of bordome they didnt want to go to the night clubs as no fun just sitting there we wrote disney on this but have yet to hear back

I went on the cruise last January when I was twenty. I had a blast. Though we were a party of 16 New Yorkers, I think it is just what you make of it. I love to dance and listen to music, so the theme nights and sail away parties were great. The shows before dinner, movies, adult pool games, bingo, and different activities during the day (which you will be informed in your daily navigator) are all interesting to check out.

PS. The drinking age is "legally" 18 in Mexico. The adult clubs are 18 and over so she will be fine.

I have to say that the 18 to 20 year old crowd their isnt much to do after 10 i just got back from the 4 day bahamas cruise and i found that as thou the adult programming says its geared for people 18 and up i felt uncomfortable about going to them. I went to a few of them and was kind of board out of my mind but than again i think its bc i didnt really know anyone i went on the cruise with my grama and she went to bed early. so i had to find things to do i found i had more fun going to the pools that to wavebands.

I went to the kareoke at wavebands and felt more comfortable singing at the family kareoke at studio sea than i did at wavebands. It seemed like there were older people at wavebands i saw barily anyone my age it was 30 and 40 year olds. I Just think disney needs to create an atmosphere where the younger crowd has somewhere to go with out grouping them with the teen group even thou the things i saw commen grounds doing i kind of wish they let my age in it looked like fun.

wdw47 I agree with your sons i went to alot of things out of bordom to althou the towel folding was fun. they need to put more for our age groupe

Agreeing that the 18-25 crowd is ignored.

We just sailed 3rd trip on Magic with DD 18 and DS 15. When we booked, we questioned if DD would be able to join teen group (last year there were a couple of 18 yos). We were told YES. Once there, the counselors said she could not without "special permission". My husband had to leave dinner twice to talk to someone in charge and we understand the question was eventually booted up to Jacqui. In the end, DD was allowed to join teen group.

This will probably be our last DCL family cruise for a few years unless DD has a friend along. She would be bored to tears in the smokey clubs playing 60s/70s music. The sight of people her parents' age doing kareoke (sp?) would probably send her off the edge of the ship.

There is a lot of wasted venue space with Sessions (I NEVER saw anyone in there) and Promenade (I saw about 4 people in there the whole week), you would think they could devote some space to "Young Adults" - maybe a juke box (freebie), small bar with regular and non-alcoholic drinks, dance floor, pool table, TVs, etc. Disney would not have to "program" it - just provide the space and maybe a bartender (or put it next to Rockin' Bar D and share the bar).

Cruznmom and Angelgirl glad to hear we are not alone in our feelings that Disney has droped the ball on the 18 to 20 year olds we agree there is alot of space un-used that could be devoted to them and a activities leader we suggest a letter writing campain telling them to get on the ball
