Hi all! My DW and I, originaly planning a trip for MVMCP in December at the VWL, were very suprised when (after 3 years of trying) we found we had a blessed little one on the way, due sometime in October (don't have the due date yet)!:hyper:

We quickly decided our vacation plans must change, and made DVC ressies for BWV in the second half of July.:earsboy:

So here is my question for all of you who've helped us to two wonderful WDW vacations.....what should a WDW fanatic and his DW do in the world when she is 5 mo pregnant? I know alot of the rides are out, and it will be VERY hot for her that time of year.:sunny:

Our nights are already pretty much planned out (we love the fireworks and Spectromagic, so we will spend one night doing each and the last at our beloved California Grill), so I'm actually looking for daytime suggestions.

Finally....please send your prayers our way, too! Thanks in advance for all your advice!:wave2:

Congratulations! I went to Disney in July at 5 months pregnant 5 years ago. My advice is to take FREQUENT breaks to stay cool (because you are going to be hot!) & drink lots of water. If you go on WDW website and click on rides, it will tell you if pregnant women can ride them or not. We had a great time but it's even more magical when you have children to bring and watch their faces! We've brought our kids every year! Be sure to enjoy all the yummy treats Disney has to eat since you need to feed that baby!

congratulations!

i went to wdw pregnant in sept. '01 and i'll be 6 months along when we go in june.

what rides to skip is pretty obvious. (i did however do the safari).

have dw drink TONS of water. the biggest danger on the trip will be dehydration. bring a water bottle and constantly drink ::yes::

i was pregnant with my first so i basically rested and put my feet up while dh rode the thrill rides (or i shopped LOL) those mini breaks were really helpful.

your touring style will definately have to change, plenty of time to get back into high gear after you have the baby! :hyper:

I went when I was pregnant 7 years ago. I had a 3 year old son with me and it was fun!! Just insist on sit-own lunches and find a nice place to sit and rest while others ride rides you can't. We lunched at the Liberty Town Tavern and it was so nice to take such a nice break! Great food too. We rode the Tomorrowland Transit and the WDW railroad as well to add in fun "breaks". Also, I was more than happy to be the one to reserve our spots for the parade! Have a great time!

We just returned on monday and i am 6 months pregnant.

Granted WDW is a bit overly cautious when it comes to pregnancy restrictions on their rides, but i did follow most of them.

(exceptions being the Safari, Kali River Rapids and a few others that are pretty tame, with no big drops.)

I found that even though at home i feel great, all the walking put a strain on my back. Take plenty of "sit and watch the people" breaks and for goodness sakes, wear good shoes. (even if they don't go with that particular cute maternity outfit.)

Let someone else carry the backpack or "family bag", you don't need to be toting the exta weight - you already will be hauling enough around.

Drink, drink, drink.

This is about the only time in your life when you can eat with reckless abandon, take advantage of that and do at least one buffet. (we dig Germany and The Crystal Palace. Mmmmmm - Chicken Schnitzel!)

Have a great time and know that even though you can't fully enjoy all that WDW has to offer this time around, in a few years you will have a little critter who will be just consumed by the magic in your favorite vacation spot.

Thanks to you all for your great replies! :earsboy:

We'll definitely take your advice!

Hope you all have a great day!

I been to Disney a few times when I was expecting and the above advice is great but they forgot the most important things!

Shop for stuffed animals for the baby and relax and visualize your next trip with your sweet bundle in tow! Also pack lots of tissues for teary eyed moments that will come and you will have no idea what triggered it!

Congratulations and best wishes! ::yes::

hmmm..wonder if i can convince DH to knock me up before our next trip? heheheheh

j/k! congrats to all who are expecting new princesses or princes! :)

My wife told me that it was most important for her to have good shoes. You need a lot of solid support. Also something that can expand and contract with your foot size.
