We'll fly in the day before and probably stay at the Hyatt overnight. What is there to do (onsite or nearby) during the afternoon/evening? Thanks!

Not a whole lot other than to eat dinner someplace or pick up supplies/snacks/liquor for your cruise.

The airport is over on the east side of town and if you venture too far from the airport, the traffic can be brutal in the afternoon.

You could take the 528 west and get off on I drive and ride the Orlando Eye or partake in some of the other tourist activities.

How soon is your cruise? Currently it rains nearly every day in Orlando and has been for a few weeks now.

We usually sleep at a WDW resort and spend the time there and have ME bring us to the port from our resort!

We love to do the same. Staying at a Disney Resort really gets us in the mood, and the drive (whether ourselves or via DCL transportation) is very short (about an hour), and a delight. In the car we play Disney Cruise trivia, on the bus it's a bit harder to do that but the videos are really good mood setters. As for the night before, we like to go to Downtown Disney and walk around, or sometimes we just relish the resort, no matter which one.

ME (Magical Express) can take you from MCO to the Disney resorts free, then DCL transportation is available (for a fee) to take you to the port.

I think you should really consider the night before at WDW. MUCH more fun than either near the port or at the airport.

We fly into MCO around 10:00 a.m. and check in to the Hyatt. We then pick up a rental car and go to lunch and do a little shopping including some carryon drinks. We come back to the Hyatt to rest for a while and then go to DTD for dinner and shopping. By then, we are tired and ready to go to sleep. When we get up in the morning, we pack up, put the DCL tags on the bags and go to breakfast in the MCO food court. We come back up to get our carryon luggage, leave a tip on the bags and then go down to the DCL check-in to wait for the bus to the port.

Just a clarification. Magical Express is the free shuttle that runs to/from MCO to WDW resorts. For transfers from resort to port you take DCL transfers ($35.00 per person). Same from MCO to port - DCL transfers.

We usually shop around the airport or relax at hotel until the rest of the group arrives. Then we rent a car and head to downtown disney for the afternoon/evening/dinner. Sometimes we hit one of the outlet malls too.

We swam, shopped, ate at a restaurant - we really like that hotel.
