What to do about PS? Grandma *might* want to go...

Our trip is at the end of Sept. DH grandma said yesterday that she might like to go with us. She is certainly welcome, but she won't know until possibly last minute if she wants to go or not. The deciding factor will be if grandpa is still living at that point or not. Right now he's very ill, and they said a matter of time, but no one knows how much time. DH is going to talk to her today and see if she truly does want to go, but what do we do about our PS? They are made right now for a party of 4; if she comes, it will be a party of 5. I don't want to get there with no PS for enough people, and I don't want one person to have to sit out. We have PS at the following: Garden Grill, Fantasmic dinner package at H&V, Crystal Palace, Donald's Breakfast, 1900 Park Fare, CRT dinner, 50's PTC, Chef Mickey's, Princess Storybook Bkst, and LTT for MNSSHP.

What can we do?

Why not just make all your PS's for 5 people. Then you can always let them know that there will only be 4 if she does not go.

Yes, I agree with MrsJHenry, call now and change your PS's for party of 5. Much easier to subtract a person than to add one.

Is there a penalty for having a PS for 5 but showing up only with 4?

DH talked to her a few minutes ago, and she said she'd like to come if she can, but she can't make plans that far out right now. I do understand that, she's not having an easy time right now, I just don't want her to decide at the last minute she wants to go, and then it's too late to get PS anywhere for a party of 5, and none of us get to eat.

I'm pretty sure there would be no penalty for just having 4 in you party. The only place that said they would charge me for a no show was for my Fantasmic dinner package at H&V. They told me if I didn't cancel and not show up they would charge me $10 a person.

There are no penalties if only 4 out of 5 show up at most places. I know that for Fantasmic, you need to give them 48 hour notice for a change, but you should be able to do that with no problem. I am not sure about any other "pre-pay" PSs, but if you do, they should be the same. Just give Disney Dining a call & find out.

For regular PS's there is no penalty. It might be nice though if you called them a head of time to say there was a change and there will only be 4 people.
But really I would go a head now and make all PS's for 5 people.

There is no problem at all with one person not showing up. I did the same thing last year with a grandparent who I was not sure would be able to attend. Turned out he did not go and I had no problem showing up with one less person. You can always call at any time during your stay there to cancel that one person .
The only ones you may have a problem with is the Fantasmic pkg., and the LTT the night of the party. If your Ps is after the park is closed then she may not be able to come in without a ticket for the party. Maybe someone else will know the answer to that one. Good Luck.

I think we'll go ahead and make the PS for 5 and see what we can get. I know the Fantasmic package there would be a penalty if she doesn't come, and LTT for the night of the party, I think I'll leave LTT as it is, she probably won't want to go to the party, and if she does, we'll get her a ticket (it's for 10/3, so it shouldn't be sold out) and do something else for dinner. Fantasmic package I'll deal with later on.

I know the PSB at Epcot will charge your credit card $10 if you don't cancel within 48 hours of your PS. I doubt they would do anything if you only changed the number in your party. I'd make your PS's for 5 and then I'm sure you will know 48 hrs. in advance.
