What to do about Beach & Sand Toys at Castaway Cay?

If your 3 yo is like mine, she'll want to wear her red princess sparkley shoes to the beach. She'll get sand in them, which means they're uncomfortable to walk in. So, you'll end up carrying her everywhere that day because, of course, she won't want to take off said shoes. She won't want to sit on the sand and build a sand castle, because it's uncomfortable - she is a princess, you see!!!

So, sand toys would be a complete waste of money or luggage space. . .

Some day these pictures of her in her bathing suit and red shoes will be funny. My arms are still aching, however, and it's just not funny yet.

I recommend this as well. Did it last year for our cruise and doing it again this year. The kids love the surprise of having something in the room waiting for them, and not having to lug sand toys in my luggage is way worth it to me.

love the Mickey plate idea!! We got "surprise" castle buckets to fill with prizes for our kids and I thought about mailing them ahead of time! Can you mail sunscreen! DH does not think we need to amil them!

Worst case if you get there and it's really an issue the toy kit at CC is only $10 and is very nice quality.

I agree! We brought our own small $1 store set, but the CC sets were very sturdy and had all the castle molds included. Some kids were making some really cool castles easily with them. At $10 I wished I would have just waited and bought them- we would have used it for years. Great souvenir!
