We are planning a day at Knotts in the summer and want to get to the park for opening. We will need to buy tickets on the day as I found out yesterday that we can not pre buy the tickets from their website (only American and Canadian residents can do that, I live in England!) So the lady I spoke to said I would have to buy the tickets on the day (I can use my AAA affiliated card to get a discount so not too bothered about the price.)

Anyway, what time do you think I need to leave DL to get to Knotts, buy and ticket and get into the park as soon as it opens in August? Also do the ticket booths open before the park opening time? Any tips for the best order to do the rides in as there is no FP system? I presume it will be busy in the summer and we want to ride the coasters and water rides mainly and do not have children with us, just 2 adults.

Thanks.

Knotts Berry Farm is pretty close to Disneyland via the freeway - maybe 10 minutes. So, you should probably give yourself a half hour or more, considering parking time & getting from the parking lot to the ticket booths, and the lines that may be there.

I haven't done Knotts as a whole park in a long time. We usually just start in one direction (left), and continue in a circle around the park. I would take the time to choose the attractions that are must do's, nice-to-do's, and do-if-there's-time so that you can concentrate on those that you really want to enjoy first.
