What time to leave Fort Wilderness Campground?⛺️

Good Evening Everyone! I’m running my first 10K race at Disney during Princess Weekend. I’m staying at Fort Wilderness. What time should I plan to leave the campground to head to the race? I’ll be taking the Disney shuttles.

I'd say the answer can depend on several factors (what corral? are you going for speed? worried about balloon ladies? want to get pre-race pictures with characters?), but I usually always advise runners to get on the first bus leaving. Which for the Disney Princess 10k is probably going to be 3:00am local time. Check the event guide when it comes out a few weeks before the event. There have been mishaps with buses before, and you'd hate to waste all that training and money to have a stressful race morning. The odds of it happening are very very low, but it does happen from time to time.

If is like the Wine and Dine bus to the expo, it stops at Wilderness Lodge and Contemporary after picking up from Fort Wilderness, so I would definitely want to be on the first bus. If you want to splurge on a Minnie Van, they can pick up right at your site. That's what we ended up doing. Left the campsite via Minnie Van at 3:30 am on 5K race day.
