We plan on watching it from Frontierland, so I know it's not quite as busy as the main areas. Just wondering, in June, what time should we get our spot for the parade, and what are the best spots in Frontierland?

Thirty minutes before should be fine.

what are the best spots...

Two places to see any parade at MK that will be easier to "get."

Deep in Frontierland, past Country Bears.

In Liberty Square, Near Hall of Presidents.

Are there any shady spots in Liberty Square?

How about if you want a shady spot? And the crowd level is 9?

Under your shade tree at home, watching it on Youtube? :)

Actually, I think there are shaded areas in Frontierland, and under the overhang at HOP. Only thing about HOP is people may get in front of you if you stay under the overhang.

If you can get it, right at the start of the route (where the red line turns green in Robo's map post), on the Advntureland side of the street, there is shade. We lucked into that spot on a 7/8 day in November with only about 20 minutes to spare. The shade is not deep shade, but it does block most of the sun.

Sorry, I need to rephrase that. I need a shaded spot in a front row. Is that possible in LS or will I need to go deep into Frontierland?

We found a great spot right in front of the riverboat loading area in liberty square on a 7/8 day on our last trip about 30 or 45 min before the parade. There are some planters right there that you can sit on or in front of and no one can get in front of you. Plus its right at the turn so you get a little extra time for pics as the parade slows down to make the corner.

Thanks!

I had the same question! We have ADR at The Plaza at 4:05pm and figured it's best we should grab a viewing spot (we are a family of 5) close by The Plaza on Main Street to make sure we're not late for dinner with the crowds afterwards. Thoughts?? Any thoughts how far beforehand we need to find out spots on the curb to get a front row seat so the kids can see the parade? We will also have a double stroller which will block and hold our spot (I'm assuming) while one of us hangs out with the stroller while the other takes the kids on a walk and stretch their legs.

Semi-related parade question -- how long before parade starts can you cross over from say Splash to POC/Jungle Cruise?

Here's a good one if you time I right.

Look at Robo's map for the crossover at County Bear Hall. Last summer, we were able to slip through the crossover and into the Country Bear stroller parking area just as the 3 pm parade was approaching. The kids got front row with a less than 30 second wait. Not too bad.
