What time to get a good spot for the fireworks?

We're planning on seeing the new Halloween fireworks on the 25th September. What time should we go and stake out a spot to get good seats? Also what time would you recommend making a dinner PS for to allow us enough time to be seated, have dinner and then find a fireworks viewing spot?
