What Time To Be At The Buffalo Airport For A SWA Flight - Please Advise!!

Hi Gang

We are flying out of Buffalo on Wednesday morning and I'm not sure what time to be at the airport. I heard that you should alot some extra time for the "new" security measures taking place lately. We're staying over and taking a shuttle from the hotel across the street to the airport. Can someone give me a knowledgeable idea of when to be there?

WE were good with an hour and a half before hand. We did on-line check in and then went straight through security and to our gate. I traveled alone with 2 kids (5 & 3) and had no problems.

The hotel will tell you what time to be in the lobby to catch the shuttle. We were told to be there 1.5 hours before our flight and had no issues with time.

I wouldn't cut it any closer than an hour for sure, and would suggest the 1.5 hrs. We have been there when it was like a ghost town, breezed right through and had loads of time, but I've also been when security has been backed up right to the doors and we cut it very close to make our plane (and we were there what I thought was early!). In 2008 when I travelled with my kids, the line-up was average, and we still had barely enough time to get some food, a quick diaper change and we were called to board. I get flustered when I cut it that close! I'd rather have time to kill!!

I still go with the 2 hours before rule. I prefer to get there early and get a seat near a window, have a tea and just watch the planes. I can usually kill some time wandering around the gift shop and browsing magazines.
