During August non EMH day what time should we arrive at Animal Kingdom if we want to rope drop Kilamanjaro Safari?

About 30 min. before the posted opening time.

(The gates should already be open by then, but
virtually "everyone else" will be heading directly to Pandora.)

They will let you into the park up to the oasis about 8:30 on a 9 am opening. They will let you into Pandora early. They rest of the park most likely will not open till 9.
Most of the crowd at RD will be headed to FoP. If you are headed to the Safari, you should be nearly walk on at RD.

We were there on a fairly busy March it may or may not compare crowd wise, but we got through th gate around 8:40-8:45. There were maybe 100 people ahead of us for the safari? I don’t recall our exact wait time—although I think I did track it in the Lines app! I’d say it was about 15 minutes from when they started letting us in until we got on the ride vehicle. It was just long enough that my kid was grumpy about it—we had pretty good FP lines all week so he was spoiled by then!
