We are staying at AKL Jambo. We will be headed to MK on 3/31 & 4/1. We want to be there in plenty of time for RD. Should we plan on being at the bust stop by 6AM? How long will the ride be? Thanks!

We left our rooms at CSR between 6 and 6:10 am for 7 am openings at MK in December and made it without any issues. We felt a bit like lunatics heading out in the dark, but those early EMH's were a life saver. Everything except Mine Train and Anna & Elsa were basically walk-ons that first hour, even on the day that MK ended up reaching capacity! I HIGHLY recommend!

Thank you for the feedback. I hope it will be worth it! We have never been in the park at that hour. Do you happen to remember if they picked a family of the day at your EMHs in December? I have been told that it depends. Also what time did the crowds pick up enough where you started to need to use FP?

One day yes, one day no. The first day we had a VERY abridged welcome show with no family of the day. The second day we had the train, characters, family of the day etc... I don't know what the reason was.
Things really started to pick up around 9, and after 10 most rides had substantial lines.
We really did get a TON done early, though.
Do you have FP+ for Mine Train? Most people went there; about 5 minutes after opening the line was back to Storybook Circus! Then at the regular 8 am opening most of those people headed for Mine Train. It was insane!
Meanwhile, we were walking onto rides like Space Mountain and Peter Pan.
Also, completely unsolicited advice, but if you have any interest in the characters, I highly recommend Kenny the Pirate's character locator app. Many of the early EMH times / extra times were not in the Times Guide but were on his app. We were able to meet a ton of characters by seeing when their next set would be and then arriving a few minutes early. As soon as the character is out, people flock to them like moths to a flame, but by getting there a little BEFORE they came out we got a jump on the crowd. Extremely helpful for busy times.

Do you know exactly what the app is called? I can't seem to find it, thanks!

Thanks for all the advice! This is our 3rd trip but first during Spring Break. I follow Kenny's Blog but I don't have the app and I was wondering when Merida would start her meets since there is such an early opening. Do you know if his app works for iPhone? For some reason I thought it was just available for droids. Luckily we will also be there two days and we do have FPs for mine train and Anna and Elsa :)

My dd-21 and I were at Disney on our own pre cruise before the rest of our family came down. We were going to MK December 27. She wanted to go since the last couple of yrs she has t been with my dh and ds and me since shes been away at school. Anyway, we were staying at BLT and left there to walk to MK at 620 am. It was still dark when they let us into the park lol but two days after Christmas we did everything twice before leaving about 11:30 am. Had FP for evening camr back and did those and left. It was soooo worth it. Even my dd who is in college and wont get up at and out fir 6:20 am for anything else totally agreed.

We went straight to Mine Train. We were in the front of thr crowds and the wait time said 20 minutes but we walked right on. By the time we git out the line was very long.

I would most certsinly be waiting on the bus stop by 6 am. Not leaving room by 6 am, on the bus stop waiting by 6 am. I rather wait in front of MK then on a bus stop knowing park is already open.

We did this during Easter Week a couple years ago. Agree with everyone else - bus stop by 6am. We were usually alone at the bus stop at first - and maybe one or two other families would join us. The bus was rather empty, but we were always there in time! This year for Easter Week, we're skipping the 7am EMH - our boys are ages 15, 14 and 8 and we were just there for 9 nights last month so we've decided to take it easy and not get up so early. But when we did get up early, it was so worth it - we called one of the 7am EMHs the most successful MK day ever - amazing how much you can accomplish at 7am because everyone else (including us this year!) is still sleeping!

Does anyone know what time the boat from WL would start running for 7am EMH?

We are going to do a 7am EMH during Spring Break too. 6am, ugh! Oh well, I'm usually up about then anyway on a work day.
