Hi :)

We have a reservation at 8pm and I'm wondering if that is a bit to late to MAYBE get a seat to watch Illuminations. Should I book earlier?

It was Spring 2011 so awhile ago, but I believe we booked a 7:15 pm for a 9:00 firework show.

Are you aware you can see the show from the restaurant? For that, I think you're fine. We had a 7:45pm ADR & ended up eating our dessert right when Illuminations started.

If you want to leave the restaurant & watch the show outside, yes, that's problematic.

It is a bit tricky. Finding a good spot outside to view Illuminations would mean being very lucky. And not every table inside La Hacienda has a view of Illuminations. 8pm is a good time for 9pm fireworks from La Hacienda, if you end up at a table with a view of the fireworks.

You could ask for a table with a view and say you are prepared to wait. Going by what I saw last week, La Hacienda is very popular, and you may have to wait a bit. Probably most people going that late want a fireworks view.

Yes that is what I wanted to do. Having dessert when it starts sounds dreamy! :goodvibes:

I would also guess that 8:00 pm would be on the late side for an ADR, assuming that IllumiNations is at 9 pm. I would aim for 7:30 pm or so, but be aware that many of the tables at La Hacienda do not have a good view of Illuminations. I would guess that less than half of the tables have an okay view of the show. Not all window tables have a view of the center of the lagoon, so be sure to ask about a table with a view of IllumiNations (opposed to just a window tale) if they let you make a request.

You might pop into the seating area during the day (when the seating area is open, but La Hacienda is closed) to see if you like the view.
