What time of day was your ceremony??

I was wondering if I could get some input on this, I have the choice of either doing my ceremony at 10:30am, or 2:30pm and I am just wondering what someone else's experience may have been. I am trying to do a little pre-planning and I was just wondering what I would do for lunch and or dinner depending on either time. Any thoughts or help would be great!!

Here are two different scenarios that I could do.
1) Bridal Portraits at Mk 6am, vow renewal 10:30 followed by lunch, location tbd, then off to the parks, etc

2)Vow Renewal 2:30 followed by dinner, possible fireworks cruise, bridal portraits another day.

I really like the idea of having everything in the same day I just don't want it to be over with so fast, but I also don't like the idea of having to get up that early and pay for the hair and makeup twice.

I need HELP!!

PS: anyone eaten at Ohana's after their wedding/vow renewal?? I need something that is kid friendly and lively.

We are having a VR too!! I have planned my day like this, hopefully I will be able to get these times:
2:30 - 3:30 Ceremony
3:30 - 4:30 Pre Reception
4:30 - 7:30 Reception
8:30 - 9:30 Illuminations Dessert Party

I wanted everything in one day with no breaks in between. I also wanted to wear my dress in Epcot!! I am not a morning person so there is no way I could do a theme park shoot so early or a ceremony at 10:30am! So picking the times has actually been one of the easier things for me! In your case I would not want to pay for hair and make up twice. I would probably go with option #1 and get to bed early the night before!! I know many here have gone to Ohana's for their rehearsal dinner. I have eaten there twice and it is very kid friendly. I think it's a great choice for after your VR.

My wedding day schedule is exactly like Desnik. Things might be a little bit different if I was doing a MK photo shoot though because you would save money on doing your hair/make up again and also the bouquet refresh. Also lunch is cheaper than dinner.

For me, it would depend on the time of year and the ceremony location.

We were married at SBP in September and I knew it would be HOT and HUMID for an afternoon ceremony. We don't really do HOT and HUMID.

I purposely chose the 11:30am time for our ceremony so that it was before the afternoon heat but not too early in the morning.

We only did the intimate (now Escape) ceremony so we were essentially done around 12:30. We went back to our room, changed into more comfortable clothes and went to MGM for a couple of hours then headed back to BWI to change again for our dinner that night at Cali Grill.

If you are having an outdoor ceremony in the summer/hot months, I would strongly encourage a morning ceremony time. Your receptions most likely will be in air conditioned rooms so that's not as big an issue. But taking outdoor pictures in a full wedding gown at 4pm in the summer heat could be brutal. Just something to think about.

Hi there. We're having our ceremony at SBP at 12:00 followed by lunch at 'Ohana. We absolutely loved the theme, atmosphere, food and the entertainment. Lipoa, the performer at 'Ohana is absolutely wonderful. We're keeping our fingers crossed that she'll be working there the afternoon of our wedding.

We too are doing a Vow Renewal in July! Originally I had the 5:00 ceremony booked, but decided to change to 2:30 p.m. so we could do dinner before the illuminations party.

Here is how our day is planned:

Ceremony 2:30 p.m.
Dinner at Ohana's 5:20
Illuminations Dessert Party at 8:30

I'm so looking forward to O'hana's. It's such a fun place and very special to me As a kid (one of 6 six kids) my parents would take us to Disney every summer, we never had much money, we always camped and made sandwiches to take into the parks, never, ever ate at a restaurant except, for one, OHANA's, my father LOVED Ohanas. We always went to Ohana's for breakfast at the end of our trip. When my father passed away suddenly when I was only 19 years old going to Ohana's brought a whole new meaning to me When my DH & I take our 2 DD's to Disney we ALWAYS go to Ohana's. So it made perfect sense for me to choose Ohana's for our dinner reception. I think you would be quite happy if you do too!

Our 10 year anniversary is July 6, 2008 but we have been to WDW in the summer and its too crowded, the heat I can deal with. We have never been to WDW during the holidays so my vow renewal is tentatively planned for 12/15/08 at the WP. I think I am going to do the 10:30 ceremony that way everything will be done that day and we can spend the rest of the trip enjoying the holidays at Disney. I am thinking we will probably eat dinner that night at Ohana but I am not sure we will be in our wedding attire. So many things are still up in the air, I am trying to get in contact with outside vendors and it is hard to try and plan and book these people when I can't book Disney until the 8 month mark.

Howdy back at you! You might want to wait a few weeks, I've been in Davids Bridal 3 times in the past 2 weeks and it is WALL to WALL people no matter what time you go!! From what they tell me Mardi Gras keeps Davids Bridal pretty busy until the 1st part of February. Very Chaotic

is 4pm really that hot in September? I went on travelocity and 82 is the norm is what's listed. Am I way off?

We were there in late September (19-23). If you aren't used to Florida heat and humidity (and I'm in southeastern Virginia) you can count on it being quite hot and humid. Maybe not as hot as July and August, but it is definitely still summer. And afternoon temps are usually the warmest of the day. 82 may be an average, but it could easily be 90+ degrees in September.

Your co-worker is right that the crowds are rather low (although with the free dining plan, it is more crowded than it used to be). We didn't wait for many rides (although we didn't ride many) and it was nice to not have "wall to wall" crowds.

Of those times, I would pick the noon option.

Our ceremony was only a little earlier than that and we were both "glistening"

we are getting married at 2:30pm on 2nd sept 2008.

i didnt want any breaks and our mk shoot is two days later, we are going to have silk flowers so i wont need a refresh just to have my hair done again but might so something myself instead of paying loads extra for that early in the morning

Can I ask if your getting married outside or in?

Just want to add my two cents about hair and makeup for the MK photoshoot: I have yet to see a picture from that shoot that was close enough to really show makeup.

I figure I can do a decent enough job on my own hair and makeup for pictures that are shot from 20 feet away that I'll just save the money I would have spent on a professional and save having to do the portraits the same day as the wedding.
