What time of day do you usually arrive your DVC resort? Do you drive/fly in early a.m

My first time going "home" will be in August. Leaving the Massachusetts residence at 3:30 am to get the 1st flight out of Providence. Arriving in Orlando 9:35am. Sounds like we should arrive by DME to BCV around 11am. I hope the room is ready, but either way we head to Epcot for some lunch then back to BCV for a nap!

Living in Central Florida, we, obviously, drive.

Usually we load the car, take the dogs to the kennel and are on our way by 10:00 AM.

We generally hit some of the outlet malls and have lunch (often in the "Little Saigon" area of Orlando). Then we're usually at WDW by 2:00 PM. Sometimes our room is ready, sometimes not.

If not, the DD's can change into their swim suits and go to the pool, go to Community Hall and play air hockey, etc.

We're generally in our room by 4:00 PM.

We also fly out of BWI. We fly out at around 8am and get to the resort around noon.

IS this with kiddos?? I look at that 8:00 flight and think yeah let's do it...but then I always go for the 10:00 one.

I've arrived at all times of the day. For my trip next week I won't be arriving at the resort until 10PM, my next trip in September I'll be arriving around 10AM. It really depends on how early I am able to leave my job and the day of travel.

Same here. If I get the first flight of the day we're there just after 11 am. That's what we are doing in March and April. But for December, I want full days at the parks so we are flying out the night before after work and not getting there until about 10:30 pm. We will spend that one night at AKV and then move the next morning to VWL. I'm hoping being there bright and early will get us a decent room.

We always fly out early in the morning and try to get there as early as possible. We usually have a rented car, but this time we are taking the ME. Either way, the hotel will hold your luggage for you and you can enjoy the parks, pool, lounge around the hotel, go to Downtown Disney to shop or anything else you can think of until your room is ready. When you get back your stuff is waiting for you in your room.

When we go home we usually fly out later in the day and get to maximize our time and not waste any days of our vacation. Again with ME luggage is not an issue or worrying about returning a rental.

I have to say Disney is pretty cool about that and it is really a relief not to have to wonder where you are going to store your stuff.

Do they actually take your bags to your room without you being there? Wouldn't they want for you to get into your room and then call for them to bring your bags to the room???? I mean tip and all???

We normally take early morning flights and arrive in Orlando around 5PM. We've done a couple of red-eyes, but we don't really like it. I was surprised our room was ready both times we've arrived early in the morning after a red-eye. Actually, now that I think about it, we've always had a room ready at check-in.

Do they actually take your bags to your room without you being there? Wouldn't they want for you to get into your room and then call for them to bring your bags to the room???? I mean tip and all???

Last year ME took our stuff right to our room. When we got to the hotel, we checked in, grabbed our tickets and went to a park. When we got back we went right up to our room and luggage was there already.

We usually check-in between 9 and 11 a.m. When we drive we stay overnight in either Jacksonville or Lake Mary so we head over early in the a.m. Our next trip is a flying one and we're able to fly out of PHL at 6:30 and be at MCO by 9. We like to check in early although we've only been able to get into our villa once. We don't mind checking in and then heading to a park for the afternoon, coming back later in the day to settle in to the villa and have some dinner and relax in the pool for a while. I can't wait for June!!!

with our kiddos being toddlers and facing a 20+ drive, we will only fly until they are much older. that being said, we get up early and get the first flight out in order to arrive in orlando around 10:30am. kids are so wiped out from the early waking that they konk out on the plane or in the rental car on the way to WDW. we are checked into our wdw house and in the parks by 12pm!

We fly and usually arrive early in the afternoon. If our room is available we go unpack and settle in for a little while then find the nearest pool. If our room isn't ready yet, we leave our luggage with bell services and head to the nearest pool.

Sounds silly - but once we joined DVC I started checking into a off-site hotel the day prior to check-in. That way we have an un-rushed day for travel, can get rested, and then check in and hit the parks first day of our DVC stay without being road-weary. (I love Travelzoo deals!!)

We usually do something low key like play mini-golf of visit Celebration the night before we check in. I really love doing it this way - it makes the trip feel so much more relaxed.

We usually get in early afternoon, since we drive from Houston. Spend the night along the way. If our room is ready, we get settled. If not, we usually have lunch, and then hit the grocery store. A few times our room was not ready and DH wanted to hit the parks, so we happily went along.

Our upcoming holiday trip, we are going to spend the night at a hotel close to WDW, and check in early in the morning. We will be rested and ready to go!!

We typically take the Amtrak Autotrain down which arrives at 8 am (just outside of Orlando). We then head directly for either our WDW resort or VB. Either way we almost always arrive by 11 am. At least 50% of the time our room is ready.

I fly from Albany NY, and the direct flights are usually early in the morning, between 7-8 am. This is actually fine with us, as we get to Orlando b/t 10-10:30 and arrive at WDW before noon.

Because we are up early - our first day is just a hang out day. If it is warm enough, we just hit the pool and then do dinner. We like to relax after the travel is over.

We will be arriving at OKW this Sunday - and have that same plan. Who cares if the room is ready!!! It is 28 degrees now in NY - I could walk around the resort all day and just soak up the rays!!

We're from Ohio. Prefer to fly out of Akron Canton, but can fly out of Cleveland or Pittsburgh. Generally depart early Sunday morning. The earlier the better so we're eating lunch with the mouse. Sometimes our room is ready, sometimes it's not. We've never waited more than an hour or so for a room, then it's off to the parks and away we go!

The last two trips we have flown, rented a car, and stayed offsite or at SOG on Sat night and hit DTD/PI. Sunday I go check in at 7a.m., head back to our Sat hotel, pack up the car and head to the parkstill the r oom is ready (it's been 3pm both times). Then we run out and hit the grocery store get moved into our DVC before hitting another park in the P.M. Sunday night.

I am thinking about the auto train next time as it would be the same price as plane tixs, a rental car, and staying offsite the 1st night.
