4:30 o'clock......what a bizarre way to say it!

It was a winter wedding....The wedding lasted about an hour, first reception (at the church for everyone who came to the wedding) for another hour or so, then the big dinner reception (for a smaller group of about 175) starting at 7pm.

Ours was at 10 AM with a Mass and the reception followed immediately after. It went until 11 PM.

I had a winter wedding at 3 pm, with reception at 4 pm. Against my mother's dire objections (I was paying 100%), I had pot roast served family style:thumbsup2 The restaurant was still beautifully decorated for the holidays (wedding was end of January) and the meal did not add the "redneck" atmosphere my mother was so afraid of:rotfl: I was just trying to break the stuffed chicken/broiled haddock/sliced beef tradition of so many weddings. If I could have afforded it, I would have had a raw bar, fondues, and boiled lobster but hey....

I'm really surprised that so many get married late afternoon. I have NEVER been invited to a wedding that wasn't at 11 am or noon and I've been to alot of weddings. I really hate to start drinking that early, lol.

My other petpeeve is having to wait hours between the ceremony and the reception -- what's with that? What am I supposed to do all dressed up for hours in a town where I know no one? Or even in my own town?

530PM with the reception immediately following.

The guests were having cocktail hour while we were doing photos and my photographer was GREAT abour getting those photos done really quickly.

Once I started with the whole wedding thing, I didn't want a big gap between the ceremony and reception.

10am mass followed by a brunch at the country club. Our reception lasted until around 4pm. We then had a big lasagna dinner with our gift opening later that night at my dad's house.

The wedding started at 2pm, with reception immediately following (the ceremony was outside in the garden, and the reception inside the house). We were all done by 5pm.

Wedding service at 7 pm in June, with the reception following at a different site, right after the service. The buffet and bar was open as soon as the first guests arrived, while we completed pictures. Then we got there, had our first glass of champagne, cut the cat, and had our first dance. Around 9 pm we staged our going away photos, then went back inside to dance until about midnight. FUN wedding--I really enjoyed it.

Noon wedding and 2:30 reception. Since our reception was at a museum/village (guests tour houses/neighborhoods from different time periods), our guests enjoyed free admission to the museum and were able to tour while the wedding party had pictures taken. We started the coctail hour at 1:30 so that guests who didn't want to tour the museum only had 45 minutes to kill between events.

Mine started at 12:30 (midday), and the reception was straight after the ceremony, at a guess 90 mins later.

I don't even remember, but it was in the evening. Probably around 6p or 7p, and had dinner right afterwards.

Unfortunately my ceremony as at 10:30 in the morning:scared1: My cocktail hour started at 12noon and the reception started at 1pm. I had to go with the afternoon reception because I was unable to afford the evening times so that was my only option. I thought for sure no one would show up to my church at 10:30am but when I went to walk down the isle I was thrilled to see that the seats were very filled with my family and friends.

Noon wedding
1:00 cocktail hour
2-6 reception

We got married at Disney, so they have specific times that you can get married.

ours was at 1pm - chapel in newyork-newyork in vegas - with a retired rabbi officiating (which made my FIL sooo happy - me, not so much, being catholic....)
