OK, now it is -13! I am beginning to wonder if it is going to warm up today...

We surpassed our expected high for the day by one degree so far.

1:35 pm and it's warmed up to 43 degrees.

Headed to your neck of the woods tomorrow for the weekend. What's the weather supposed to be like? At least it warmed up a little bit. Still cold here.

Yeah. Usually not this cold yet at this time of the year. When I watch the weather, they say it's typical with a La Nina pattern; which drives temps either way down or way up and prevents any type of precipitation. I see yours and Pooh's reports, and get jealous of all the rain you're getting. I often wonder when/if we'll get any more. Any moisture we can get is welcome as this has been one of the worst drought years yet. We're on record pace for the driest year yet in NM.

When most people think of NM, they think that it's mostly high desert. Which could hold true for a majority of the Southern part of the state. The weather I give you is for the Central to Northern part of the state, where we have several mountain ranges. I work in Santa Fe, so 90% of my weather reports are for Santa Fe; since that is where I spend most of my time. The Rocky Mountains end here in Santa Fe. Elevation here is about 7,200 ft. Higher than Denver's. I live 60 miles South of Santa Fe in Rio Rancho; which is right on the outskirts of Albuquerque. Elevation there is about 5,300 ft. So we tend to usually be anywhere form 7-10 degrees warmer. Not all the time, but most of the time.

So some people often wonder why it gets so cold when we live in the desert. I just have to chuckle and educate them, not where I come from. It's mostly mountains where I live. But I'm sure you knew that.

It has gotten warmer since my post this morning. 1:43pm and it's gotten up 47. 2 degrees shy of our forecasted high for the day.

It's 3:35p and 46 degrees, with the winds today it feels like 41.

We had a pretty good weekend. DW and I were in Phoenix over the weekend with some friends. It was a nice little get away. Weather wasn't too bad over there. It was nice Friday and most of the day Saturday. Saturday night it rained off and on. Sunday was cooler and cloudy, but still warm compared to back home. I hope you had a good weekend yourself.

Back home, it's still beautiful, clear, sunny and still cold.

8:18 am and it's currently 38 degrees with the wind chill making it feel like 30.

Overcast here on Long Island and 66. That's only 9 degrees cooler then Orlando right now. Go figure...

7:50 and still dark here, but most likely clear. 9 degrees below zero, which is a personal record in the life of DS13 (we moved here last summer).

You know that happened this weekend it was cold up here one morning and I noticed that in Deltona, FL where our friends live it was the same temp. I mean like mid 30's.



It's now 63 degrees and cloudy all day here, you know it was 64 degrees when I got up this morning at 7a.
