Beautiful weather here! Gorgeous sunshine all week (and next week, and the next and the next...) 5:15PM- beautiful blue sky, sunshine, light breeze and 83 degrees.

Back home, we keep hearing the "s" word from family and friends. The "s" doesn't stand for sun! Our guest room reservations are starting to trickle in.

Having spent every summer of my life in DOWNEAST MAINE, I cry now every time we cross the state line from NH into ME and see the FISHERMAN!!!

I miss Maine …. but let me state this for the record, umm, not the winter months!!!!

Hey luv, I have been kinda absentee over here on the DIS!!! Did you move into your new home? Details, lady, I need details!!!!!!

Yes, we closed the first week of August, so we've been in our house for almost three months now. There is a thread somewhere here on the DIS with pictures of the building process and a few recent interior pics. I'm still working on getting things organized and still deciding on where to hang pictures, etc.

We love the house, the community and the surrounding area! From the windows at the back of the house, we have a gorgeous view of the sun in the morning as it rises above the mountains and then in the evening, we get a beautiful view of the sun setting from the windows on one side of the house. The backyard is very private with nice views of the surrounding desert. It's a very quiet, peaceful area. Of course, it does get a bit noisy during the day since there are houses being built across the street right now.

I checked out the link to your new apartment complex. Very nice!

It is 7:50am and a beautiful morning. Gorgeous sunshine and 57 degrees, going for a high of 86 this afternoon. We're heading down to our DD and SIL's house later today. Their town has an annual Halloween festival, lots of food, fun and games, trick-or-treating. Can't wait to see the grandkids in their costumes again!

So you figured out who my good authority is huh. My good authority says to tell Brett congratulations on his new job; and congratulations to both of you on the new apartment. She won't out you on FB until you spread the good news yourself.

So I have some news for you all. The reason I have not been around as much as we are MOVING!!!!!!!! Yup, Brett accepted a position in L.A. with a Design Engineeering Firm. They made him an offer he couldn't refuse.

He was finishing up his last few weeks as the Chief in SD and had quite a few vacation days left over; so we used them up for trips here there and everywhere.

Well I guess next time Heather and I are in Sun Diego, we can't say "There goes Brett's trains anymore." Which is looking more promising that we might be back next year. I'll send you a pm.

So while we looked all over L.A. we felt like we really wanted to be in the OC!!! So after a search for sunny 3 bedroom apartments on top floors with tons of sun we found it!!! Here is the link!!! Avalon Anaheim Stadium!!! If you click on photos and see the slideshow, slide #3, you will see a top floor apartment (yellow) that is our exact apartment. 1600 sq ft. Its one block to the Amtrak Station as Brett will take the train to LA! Oh and 1.5 miles to DISNEYLAND!!!!

I clicked on the link; which yellow apartment is it? I see so many.

Since you have a 3-bedroom apt, Heather and I can just stay with you next year when we go. You complex has everything we look for in a hotel when we go. Kidding of course. At least when we go back, we'll be able to do Disneyland for sure.


Oh yeah. Weather. Well the rain/snow has been long over. Only thing that really stayed behind are the cold temps. Bright sunny day today. Currently 48 at 11:30 am.

That's what we're hoping for. We can't wait to go. A little over a week now.

Winter has officially arrived here I believe. If we had fall, it didn't last very long. Got really cold over night and the wind isn't helping.

8:20 am and it's currently 33 degrees with the wind chill making it feel like 27.

Howdy Mike!!! I sent you a PM!!! Oh on the apt … look again at slide # 3 and its the (mustard) yellow apt at the very top that wraps around the building on your right as you look at the slideshow. You will see 3 ceiling to floor windows, that is the living room. There is a balcony off the dining room and then there are two more windows to the right of the balcony … each window is in a bedroom. HTH!


Now do you have DATES for the December trip? YEAHHHH, Mike and Heather in Disneyland!!! And Christmas at DL is so FESTIVE!!!
