What time do you head towards your ADR?

We have a few ADRs, scheduled in the same park that we plan to visit for the day, so we don't have to hop on transportation. I'm just wondering though, how long before our ADR should we start heading towards the restaurant? We've never been to WDW before, so we're just curious on timing. Is 30 minutes before our ADR fair enough time to start walking there with a stroller? Thanks in advance! :goodvibes

I would say it depends on what park you are at and how far from the restaurant you are. We try to get to our ADRs about 15 minutes ahead of time. If you are at AK and you are going to the opposite side of the park it might take awhile to get to.

How long would you say it takes, worst case scenario? Is 30 minutes not enough time? Would 45 be better?

AK is big. Which parks do you have ADR's in?

If I am at the resort I like to allow an hour if I am using bus transportation. In the MK I would allow at least 15 minutes to walk if I was across the park and make sure i was about 15 minutes early.

Epcot is also a big par so depending on your location the walk may take at least 15 minutes

We have ADRs (for lunch and/or dinner) in all of them. We took advantage of the free dining plan. :lmao:

That's super helpful, thank you! :goodvibes

Well, I would just try to remember where my restaurant is in relation to where I am going. I am direction challenged..............I have a terrible time getting my bearings so for a while I had no idea where I was in any of the parks so finding my way back..............not pretty :faint:

If it is at all possible give yourself at least 30 minutes to get to your restaurant and keep in mind that if you are heading to the opposite end of the park from your ADR then try to keep track of how long it takes you to get there.

Also, look at the maps in your spare time and that may help you to plan how you tour the parks. You can see where everything is and perhaps you can make your way towards your restaurant instead of the opposite direction.

Have a great time!

We arrived to our ADR's about 20-30 minutes ahead. We did this at Cinderella's castle and were told we would have to wait about 30 minutes and then they called our names and we were seated near the window with a perfect view of the park!!! Most other ADR we did have to wait but really no more than 25 miunutes or so!

We usually leave about 30 minutes as well. It's been plenty of time in every park. But then we don't get in line for long rides or sit down to watch a show that might delay us either. We've been a few minutes late when we have ADRs before park opening and there is a big line of people to check in...etc. but the restaurants seem to know when they book 50 people at 8:00 not everyone is going to be able to check in at 8:00 LOL

Really depends on what park you are in, where you are in the park in relation to the restaurant and how crowded the park is. Will there be crowds for parades or shows you will need to get around while traversing the park? I try to plan to arrive for our ADR at least 10 minutes ahead of time.

I only arrive 5 minutes early... after a few trips and lots of 15 minute early arrivals to wait 30-45 minutes I just show up on time now. It really doe depend on where you are, but I'd probably give myself 20-30 minutes to walk depending on park and how far I had to go.

Ironically, I am the oldest and the fastest. I usually make sure I know the quickest way to get to the restaurant. We normally like to be about 10 minutes ahead because I am not crazy about waiting.

30 minutes might be excessive unless you want to arrive early. The furthest we've been from an ADR was when we were at Test Track and had a R&C ADR. We got off Test Track about 10 mins before our R&C ADR and showed up exactly at the right time. We walked fast but didn't book it. It was fine.
