What time do you go home for naps from the park?

I am trying to figure out how our schedule could work. I have 3 year old twins, and I am planning on going back to the resort to take a nap at mid-day as has been suggested. How do you get back, when you count transportation time, in time for the afternoon parades? I thought they start around 3 p.m.

We are staying at BC for 4 days then moving to AK.

I don't have children, but when I was little we would go into the parks first thing, and then leave after lunch for a bit, and come back at dinner time. If you want to stay for a parade, maybe you could try spending the am in the pool, and head in for early afternoon. If the parade starts at 3pm and you're using Disney transportation, I would be at the bus stop no later than 1pm so you can get a good spot. Another suggestion, the best time to go to FantasyLand is during parades!

Have a great time!

I dont' have kids either, but when we went in June, we went to the hotel for ME to take a nap every day!! :) We usually left around 2-3 in the afternoon and stayed until 5-6 before heading back out for the nighttime events!

The first year we went our kids were 2, 4 and 5. We went to the parks as soon as they opened and left around 1:00. We usually didn't see afternoons parades. We went back around 6:00 had dinner and watched the night time parades/fireworks. For us it just worked out better. The kids had time to swim and nap.

Our DD was 4 last year and we went back to the BCV between 1-2 that gave us an hour to leave the parks get through the parking lot drive to hotel and get to the room. We then were rested for dinner, shows fireworks etc. That year the only parade we watched was spectromagic. I agree with the above post that if you want to see an afternoon parade you should have a quiet morning. This year we are planning on stars in motor cars and will go to the park first at noon. I hope that helps. :wave2:

My girls will be 4 and 22 months when we go, and we have decided for the most part to do later afternoon naps so they can make it thru dinner and perhaps even fireworks (the little ones go to bed 6:30 pm right now...yikes!). That means, for the most part, missing the afternoon parades. We plan to be at the park at opening, play 'til about noon, go back to the room, eat lunch and nap, then be ready to head back out late afternoon. One day, however, I would like for them to see the 3pm parade in the MK, so that day we will probably hang out at the resort, have an early nap, then head to the park for the parade, an early dinner, then back home for early bedtime.

All of this said, we'll definitely go with the flow and work our schedule around our kids each day. It's so hard to make a firm timeline with little ones -- they can definitely throw a monkey wrench in even the finest laid plans.

We left the parks when we were ready for lunch, whenever it was. Usually around noon or so, and ate lunch at the food court, then went up for a nap. We missed all the afternoon parades though, because our kids nap at least 3 hours at a time. We usually got back to the park around 4 or so, in time for dinner. I didn't mind, the kids didn't know they were missing anything, and there will be another trip, but I do love the parades. Hope to see them this fall, it's just DH and I!

We usually missed the afternoon parades too. We did catch one at MGM. We usually ate lunch in the park and then took our break. It really depended on how the kids were doing. If they're weren't tired, it was impossible to get them to nap in a Disney Resort hotel room.

If we had seen the parade bfoere we would leave at about 1 or 2. If we had not seen the parades we would watch them then go straight to the bus and take a nap.
