What time do the Main Street USA vehicles start giving rides?

We usually rope drop & miss the main street vehicles. I've caught them twice in the many times I've been to MK and got to ride down to the castle in style. I know they don't have them running during the rope drop craziness, but does anyone know when they start? For example is it 30 minutes after rope drop?

30 minutes sounds right. Maybe even 15 minutes. I know we caught one of the vehicles really early in the day.

How do you get a ride on one?? Is there a meeting spot? Is it like a round trip ride?

In my experience both the horse trolley and the cars start not long after park opening. We watch the opening show, go right through the arch and hop on, usually the trolley but in March 2014 we got in one of the cars. I believe they reserve the fire engine for the family that opens the park. Also I've videoed our ride up Main St several times and I've noticed that we pass more people than pass us, especially in the trolley, so you're not going to lose time riding. As for how to ride, they're usually just parked there where the Main St loop begins, just hop on.

We were in prior to park opening in November - right about 8:00 on a 9:00 opening for our BOG ADR and they were running. We walked in and one went by and SIL and I loudly said we want in one! And I sad (a little loud) I actually don't know how! They stopped and we all hopped in

Hmm I must have either just missed them last time or it was an off day. I will loiter after rope drop until I see the double decker bus

I was surprised to see the double decker bus within 15-20 minutes of park opening over President's Day weekend. I did't expect to see it at all with the number of people streaming in.
It's usually only a one way ride (though you could probably get off and come back the other way if you wanted, it's probably not that busy going from castle to train station first thing in the morning).

But, the top front of the double decker bus was one of the best views of the castle I've ever seen (I'd share my picture if I could ever figure out how).
