What surprises have you done at WDW for your significant other?

We will have our 21st anniversary (last day of our WDW vacation) this summer when we return to WDW.
DH is into UK in EPCOT - so I made a reservation for lunch at Rose & Crown.
I am going to call them and see what they can do as a special dessert.
Our kids will be with us - but we still can not do an 8" cake on our last day at WDW. We would never finish it.
I am hoping The British Invasion will be performing that Saturday :)

For my DH's wedding gift, I, also, got him the driving experience at Richard Petty. I figured if I was going to get it for him it mine as well be at my favorite place :confused3

6 months later, he was driving at NHIS (our local nascar track)

I surprised DH with the Back Stage Future world tour so he could see the fireworks Barges ;) And he sent me flowers to the room-he use proflowers.com.

im wondering does it cost to have them leave autographed pics in your room or for them to leave gifts (previously paid for) as a suprise or is it the concierge doing it for you? i want to do something similar for someone who has never been to disney (i want everthing to be extra magical)

Giving the thread a little BUMP.. I'm still trying to find something special to do for my DH while we're in WDW (we're staying a couple of extra days after the rest of our family leaves).

For our December 2004 trip, I secretly upgraded our hotel. We had orginally booked at POR, but I moved us to the Boardwalk. He did not figure it out until I drove through the gate to the hotel!

The DW and I took a solo 25th anniversary trip this past Novemeber/December...
- When I made the reservation I mentioned to the CRO CM that it was a surprise 25th anniversary trip. While the CM has a few ideas how to keep it a secret, hide a piece of clothing each week...
- When we checked in at the CR, the CM who handled the check-in process mentioned that she "had an envelope for us". We took it to the room to open, it was a certificate similar to what bubba73 mentioned.
- We then went to get a bite to eat. When we returned, out luggage was there and 3 nice balloons and picture in a cardboard frame autographied by Mickey and Minnie wishing us a Happy 25th anniversary.
- I re-proposed to my wife at the wishing well near the castle, presenting her with a new diamond ring.

Last July we were in Disney during DH's birthday.

The year before we had been in New York on his birthday and we went to a Yankee's game. I had made arrangments in advance and at the middle of the 5th inning they announced "Happy Birthday" to him over the speakers and flashed it on the score board too! He thought that was the coolest birthday present ever. So, the next year when we found ourselves in Disney on his birthday, I knew that I had to do something great.

I purchased a single share of Disney Stock in his name complete with frame and engraving. I mailed it to concierge at the Grand Floridian (where we were staying) and they had delivered it to the Hoop Dee Doo Review. We had dinner at the Hoop Dee Doo the night of his birthday and they brought him up in front of everyone to present it to him! I thought the baseball game was better but, you can do pretty much anything you can dream in Disney.

Make sure that you call and let the hotel and everyone else, for that matter, know that it is a special event. They will help you with what ever you want to do. Don't be afraid to make strange requests, you might be surprised to see what they will be willing to do for you! I think that gifts presented at meals is a pretty standard thing and any of the restuarants will do that for you if you make arrangements in advance.

This reminds me... We are going to be there for DH's birthday again this year. I'm going to need some suggestions to for something great to do for him.

Hoe do you purchase a share of Disney stock? Does it come framed? Also does anyone know how to get an engraved brick at either MK or Epcot? We'll be in WDW in August for our 15th anniversary, I'd love to get something like this for my DH. How much does a share of Disney stock cost?

You can get stock from oneshare.com. They have different frames and you can even have a little plaque engraved for it. My DH gave me one last Valentines day. As far as bricks are concerned, they don't offer them anymore. You can get a tile put on at EPCOT at the Leave A Legacy walls. I've seen pictures and also just anniversary dates, birthdays...
I'm not sure who you should call at Disney, but I bet you could do that ahead of time. They should be able to send you the location of your tile before you go. Or you can look it up there.

Last year i arranged a special meal at Victoria and Alberts! Was the most romantic evening since our wedding day! It was so special and the food was out of this world! It was so nice to get really dressed up in an evening dress and him in a suit too

I've surprised hubby on a couple of different occassions. :)

In March 2003 we were celebrating his birthday & staying at the Contemporary - I was able to order a Mickey birthday cake for him after we checked into the resort. They delivered it to our room on the day I requested, while we were out at the parks. It was a fun surprise for him to come back to! :teeth:

In May 2005, we celebrated our 5th Wedding Anniversary. He knew we were eating at the California Grill for our anniversary dinner, so we headed to the Contemporary. After we got there I told him we had another stop to make first, & we hopped the boat to Ft. Wilderness. He really wasn't sure what was going on! We went on a Carriage ride at Ft. Wilderness & it was really romantic. It was a perfect anniversary! :thumbsup2

Good luck & happy anniversary! :)

On our first no kids WDW trip, I pulled off a good one on my wife. I had a wishes cruise planned with other fellow dis'ers. I then had his and hers mickey rings made with our kids and our birthstones on the side and a Mickey face made of diamond chips. I let everyone know about the ring I was giving her through the personal message system on this board, so they all knew about it. Turned out I really needed them, they had to shine the flashlight on us because I forgot it would be dark out at the time out on the water!! oops...lol. I try to be a romantic, but life seems to rush all of our lives. Can't go wrong with jewelry though in my book.

just reading, last year we went to seaworld, and ui for his bday. All we did was go to hardrock for dinner

we are going again this year, and trying to get better ideas

For a trip when we were there for her birthday in 2001:
1 - wedding vow renewal at the Wishing Well near the castle
2 - GF spa treatment
3 - birthday illuminations cruise
4 - had room decorated for her birthday

Surprised her with a trip just the 2 of us in October 2004:
- she didn't know what resort we were staying at, booked AKL Savannah view
- had champagne delivered to room
- another GF spa treatment

Michael

Where do I find out info. on the wishing well renewel? My husband and I would love to renew our vows. I do not want to spend a lot of money to do so.

In 2001 our first ever trip without the cherubs DH and I sat in the twilight watching the water over by Rose and Crown...he gave me a bagette for my diamond...I thought it was a mickey ears ring...can you say no glasses and getting dark out??? :rotfl2: In 2002 he gave me a pair of diamond earings at Akershus as they brought us out an anniversary cake, in 2003 he was driving me nuts holding my wrist...what I didn't know was he was trying to make sure the bracelet he was going to give me fit. :lmao: I hate tight things and am still wearing it...I never take it off except for surgeries! I love all of my surprises and I surprised him for a few trips with different resorts and an Illuminations cruise. I love him so much...  That will be it for a while it is time for a roof and we have outgrown the minivan and are thinking suburban!

Edited to add in 2004 for our 19th. I surprised him with the re-hitching ceremony. It was a toned down version because they were just ending them, ours was the last!

Go to giftsofalifetime.com. They plan special events like vow renewals. That's was DisneyGeek told me.
