What Store Credit Card Do You Use Most?

I'd have to say I use my JC Penney card most often, with Kohl's a very close second.

You? :)

I (gasp!) don't have a store credit card. I used to have some but when I divorced, I cancelled them all and I've never gotten new ones.

We each have one major credit card but the only thing we charge is gas, internet purchases, and things like rental cars or airline tickets. Everything else we pay with cash.

The only store credit cards we have are Sears, Penneys, Best Buy and Fashion Bug.

Sears has been paid off for awhile and we'd like to keep it that way. ;)
Same with Penneys.

Best Buy I just put a laptop computer on, 6-months free interest.

Fashion Bug is the one I use the most I guess. Paid it off, but just about each month I find "something" else to put on it. ;) This month I MAILED my payment in so I didn't have to GO TO THE STORE to pay it, so I was tempted to buy anything more that I don't really need!

Filenes - I mean Macy's, now. I only have store cards for them and Kohls, and our Kohls is so dirty and crowded that I hate going in there.

Kohls, but I use it lots less than I did before they changed the terms last summer. When I could pay 1/3 of the balance and not owe interest, I just went to Kohls,, got what I wanted and didn't think much about the balance. Now I my monthly maximum (set by me) is $100.

The Gap. I like the rewards points you earn on purchases. I will only use the store card when shopping there (or Old Navy and Banana Republic).

I second that! I love my Gap card. I pay it off in full every month, but the rewards come in handy since that's where I buy most of our clothes.

I also love our Circuit City card. DH is a techie, so he is always into some new gadget. The trick is to not carry a balance, or then you lose money...so we always pay in full.

I cut up my store credit cards years ago. Before that I had a Sears card that was so old that when I tried to use it, they could not find it in their computer. I did briefly signup for a Sears Mastercard, but when they screwed me by not sending me my first month's bill (and thus costing me a late payment service fee), I cut that one up as well. Had a GAP card briefly, but never used it because it was a hassle to pay the bill. I guess I'll just stick with my Disney Visa card.

I prefer to use the majors, so I'd always decline the store cards. NY&Co enticed me a couple years ago, and I have that.

Like chatty, when I go in to pay, I walk out with a bag! I just set it up for online payment, but the balance was only 11.00, so I wasn't doing too bad. I'm glad I got the store card, because I'm always getting coupons. When it's stuff I was going to buy anyway, it's nice to get 30% off!

Kohl's keeps accosting me to get their card, but I don't really see the need-I've got cards they take there (mostly the debit, though :) )

The only store card we had was a Sears, but we closed that 10+ years ago. We just stick with Mastercard or Visa.

I usually just use my visa or amex, but I do like my Gap card. :thumbsup2

GAP card, followed by VS card. Both have rewards and coupons for cardholders.

I have a lot of store cards but rarely use them. Every once in a while just to keep them open. Penney's is nice to have because they send coupons out pretty regularly and give discounts off at times if you use it. Most store brand cards charge such a high interest rate I wouldn't use any of them if I had to carry a balance!

We have a reional store named Von Maur that sells upper moderate clothing and such. The best part is their credit card is INTEREST FREE! I love that store!

I have a Target card that gets a decent amount of use. The cool thing is that I'm donating to my local school everytime I use it as well as earning a 10% off day for me. So far this year I've shopped enough for Target to give the school district over $1000.00.

I have a PC Richards card that I use sometimes too. For those of you not in the NYC metro area, PC is an electronics and applicance store. They offer 18 months free interest often, so when I want something new, I wait for the offer and go get it. My TV, my dishwasher and my Dyson all came from there.

Kohl's. I like that I get coupons all the time. Like right now--I have a 20% coupon that I'll use to get some presents.

Kohl's. The give out some decent % off once a month to cardholders which you can use even on clearance priced items.
I love that store.

Psst--I cancelled my Penney's card 8 years ago and I've moved twice AND changed my name and I still get the coupons and discounts through the mail. I think it's because I order from the catalog and online regularly.

The only store card I have is Kohl's, I got rid of the others MANY years ago. The only reason I have a Kohl's card is because I worked there for 5 years and in order to get our Associate Discount, you had to pay either with cash/check or with a store card, no Visa/MC/Discover, etc. allowed to be used to get your discount.
Now I just use it for the coupons and discounts. I never carry a balance.
