What states have you never been to - but find yourself wondering..

This is what I think of when I think of some of the better views of Kansas. I used to mock the state before I moved here. It's got some beautiful areas, but the western 2/3 of the state seems to be what everyone thinks of. Oddly enough, everyone LIVES in the eastern 1/3! I wonder why. It's the pretty side. I-70 through western Kansas can be a long stretch of flat, but it beats the Texas Panhandle. That's the worst drive ever!

I've been in Kansas a few times. Driving through Kansas is the WORST. Completely flat.

That's what it has looked like every single time I drive through there. Not real thrilling.

Back OT, I'm curious about the northwest - Montana, Idaho, Washington, Oregon. :thumbsup2

This is pretty much exactly how I had Kansas pictured in my mind.. LOL.. The good old "cowboy" days type of landscape..

Which reminds me.. Which state (or states) actually still have the old ghost towns standing? Also, I read somewhere about this camping vacation you could go on - where you actually went out in a wagon train, slept under the stars, ate around the old campfire, etc.. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

In AZ, we have Tombstone, Bisbee, and a few others I imagine...They are interesting ghost towns for sure!

I've been to eastern kansas many times, and its more rolling than what picture you have there. Lots of trees, ect.

I would love to visit:
Connecticut
New Hampshire
Vermont
Maine
Washington
Oregon

I want to visit Wisconsin and meet the people. I figure any person who would wear a styrofoam wedge of cheese on their head can't be all bad. :)

If you like mountains, the trio of Montana, Idaho, and Utah would be a great trip. We are building a mountain house near Butte, which is in the southwestern corner of Montana and the other two are within driving distance. Mountains everywhere! We have a full view of the Tobacco Root Mountain range right out our living room windows.

I want to visit:

Hawaii (of course)
Texas
Louisiana

I have visited most of the states, and the rest I have no interest in visiting.

We were just voted the happiest state, ya know?! We have New Orleans of course, but we also have Cajun Country where you can visit Acadian Villages and see how they lived back then. And Mardi Gras is coming up, after that is Jazz Fest (we are always having a festival celebrating something here!), doesnt get too cold in the winter (usually) and oh, did I mention the food???! With all the problems that we have here (and probably lots of states do, we just dont hear about them) I was telling hubby that there is no place I had rather live. Its a very unique culture to say the least!

I have always wanted to go up the East Coast and see the leaves change in the fall, maybe Connecticut or Vermont. We dont get many defined seasons down here.
