What snacks to have in your room?

We're flying Southwest so we each get to check 2 bags. I'm going to fill up one suitcase with snacks to take with us for eating in our room. The bag will have souvenirs on the trip home.

What kinds of snacks do you buy for your room or to take into the parks?

We didn't take any snacks with us last trip and we found ourselves coming back from the parks late at night, having had dinner 5 or 6 hours earlier, and wanting something to eat. We did a lot of vending machine purchases but it didn't really hit the spot. I'm trying to anticipate everyone's late night cravings: sweet, salty, savory, etc.

What would you put on your grocery list?

We always have red licorice - it's DH's favorite. ;) Also pretzels, trail mix, and small bags of nuts for protein.

This is what we get too. plus chips, granola bars, dried fruit, fruit cups, those 100 calorie bags of cookies/chips etc .

We do the same. I always pack the individual boxes of cereal, English muffins, peanut butter, granola bars, cheese sticks, some little Debbie's snack cookies, pringles, mini candy bars, and even a few bottles of water. I pick up a small milk in the store at the resort. It's enough food that we end up eating most of it before we come home and it's easy to pack.

Pringles travel well, I do not like them but DW and girls do, they usually bring different flavors, pretzles, snack bars, kids fruit snacks, single serving peanut butter, a variety of packages of filled crackers and trail mix. My sister had a bin that fit into her suitacse that helped protect the more fragile snacks and then filled it with clothes or other stuff on the way back.

I always pack a loaf of bread, and peanut butter and jelly in a shoebox in my checked suitcase. It's something I know the kids will eat in the event they didn't eat much at dinner, or need a late night snack. There have been times we've eaten dinner at the food court, and my kids actually chose to have a pbj back in the room instead. (Can save a CS credit for later!) We also pack fiber-one bars, dried fruit, and some sort of trail mix.

Pretzels. They don't melt and you can get the nuggets which rarely gets squished. You can also get the small containers of Pringles. I also go to the dollar store and get the movie boxes of candy for, well, $1 (Wal-Mart also has these for 98 cents where I live). The candy I leave in the room to eat while watching TV.

some of the resorts have microwaves (by request) so maybe bring some micro-popcorn. walmart has large bags of trail mix in the water isle. if u'r on the dining plan, u can usually snag some fruit to have in u'r room as well. Otis Spunkmeyer packaged muffins are also nice to have on hand.

Pop-Tarts, cereal bars, trail mix, crackers, cookies - we ate breakfast in our room more than we snacked at night, but this was what we brought and it worked well for us.

Microwave popcorn also~ we pop ours in the foodcourt if we don't have a room that has a microwave.
My kids love the nacho cheese dip and salsa in the individual sized containers. We heat that up too for chips or pretzels (the cheese dip).

We bring mini bagels for breakfast but sometimes if we're hungry enough we'll eat them at night.

Oranges and apples travel well too.

I also forgot that I pack a couple instant oatmeal packages. Not my favorite but easy to make in the foods court and a great way to start the day or a good snack before bed. I bring a few paper bowls to make in it too.

I know it is not a snack but my wifey was sure glad we packed the instant coffee VIA packets!

I packed granola bars, individual packs of Annie's snacks (like Goldfish crackers), crackers, individual packs of peanut butter, fruit snacks, cereal cups, and fruit.

We have done the oatmeal too and just used the hot water from the coffee maker to make it. I made it in the paper cups they leave in the room, and just brought up plastic spoons from the food court.

A nice breakfast before we head out for the day, since we aren't big breakfast eaters :)

Snacks.... We go beyond that .... We hit the Publix enroute to the resort and get salami, ham and bologna, couple kinds of cheese and Italian bread and rolls and make mini subs for lunch ( we take our food and snacks along with our drinks to the pool for mid day breaks and pool parties)...

Rounding out our store purchases are chips, Doritos, OJ, beer and wine... We load the fridge and personally, I get tired of restaurant food in a day so I enjoy making a sandwich....

We stop at Winn Dixie before the hotel and stock up on water, fruit and snacks. It's on the main street where
All the restaurants are.
