What smells remind you of being in WDW?

For me, it's not the smells, but the music I hear that reminds me of Disney World. For example, whenever I here 'outer-space like' music it makes me think of Tomorrowland in MK. Specifically, Space Mountain, and that one tiny monorail train that takes you through Space Mountain (because when you're in line waiting to board Space Mountain, they play 'outer-space like' music.

Sounds remind me more of Disney than smells, as well. I like watching old episodes of the Twilight Zone, and that music reminds of....you guessed it..The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror!!! One of my favs! I can't wait to ride it again!

Also, the smell of sunscreen just gets me. It makes me think of Blizzard Beach!

And this is the weirdest one: BACON, yes I said BACON. Several years ago on a family vacation, my grandmother once saved a piece (YES, ONE little piece) of bacon from breakfast at the Coronado. As we were being picked up by the DVC crew for a presentation, she embarrassed everyone by taking the said piece of bacon from her purse and exclaiming "Oh, girls....I saved this piece of bacon from breakfast. Does anyone want it?" We immediately tried getting her to put it away, but it was too late to shed the embarrassment we all felt. And the best part.......she ate it later that night!!!

To this day we've always joked about this story whenever we have bacon. So I think of Disney everytime I eat a nice breakfast! Last year, I secretly kept a piece of bacon from breakfast at the resort, and on the bus back to the resort that afternoon, I loudly asked my dad if he wanted it. It was HILARIOUS. Of course, no one else got it.

Hate to make this post any longer...BUT if anyone ever hears someone talk about a "saved piece of bacon" at WDW, it's most likely me or my family!

We went to an Oktoberfest by my house and while we were walking around I smelled that smokey smell that you smell in Spaceship earth and in the Land..... I always get so excited when I smell it because it brings me right back to EPCOT. OHH to dream!

Several years ago I bought this Aromatic spray while we were at WL. Well, if I need a pick me up I just squirt a couple times and I'm magically transported back there.

Also, this year I made sure to pack away a few of the toiletries and when I wake up a need a Disney fix I just use them in the shower. Great way to start the day!

We got home from our trip one week ago today. When I started unpacking that night I pulled out my DD's shirt that she had worn to dinner at Chef Mickeys in the Contemporary. I had put it back in her suitcase to possibly wear again because she had only worn it for a few hours. Anyway, when I took it out, I smelled it and it smelled just like the concourse (the 4th floor) in the Contemporary. I even asked my hubby to smell it and tell me what it smelled like and he said the same thing. We thought that was so cool because we had stayed there a couple of times and love it there. It smelled so much like Disney to us, and it was neat to smell that in our own house. Weird, I know. But that smell is Disney to us

I have a few -

1. the bus diesel smell
2. Like one poster said, the early morning air sometimes can take me back to early mornings at the resorts. I am NOT a morning person, but when I am at WDW, I can't sleep in and I love watching the World wake up.
3. Bath and Body works Cool Citrus Basil - I bought this for a trip in 2000, and I have worn it every trip since, and I won't wear it any other time. I know its silly, but I love opening at bottle at home and instantly thinking about the World.

just the other day while baking cookies and brownies in the oven (at the same time) when i opened the oven i though it smelled like main street bakery (i think that the name) i was so excited!!

i agree completely! Ever since I have been a tiny little one, that fresh baked right out of the oven cookie smell has always given me flashbacks of Main street.


I read a few years back that they actually pump that smell out through the stree for atmospere ... do they still do that?

when my neighbors automatic sprinklers go off 4x a day the dampness of the grass and bushes in the summer reminds me of the humid air smell in disney in august.. crazy I know..

I agree about the early morning smell in the summer when the humidity is high. It makes DD and I think of waiting for the bus to go to the parks. We call it a Disney Morning!

The monorail! That smell is the best (except for if you ride around 4 or 5pm when it smells like body odor after people are exiting the parks ). Also Pop Century's lobby has a certain smell, though I don't exactly know how to describe it . . . . it's a great smell though. Also the smell of Pirates - you know, that kind of rocky, underground smell? We visited some mines over the summer for fun and when we entered I flashbacked to Pirates!

One more - Big Thunder Mountain Railroad!!! We visit a local amusement park all the time and they have this old train roller coaster (though NOWHERE near Big Thunder standards). Every time I enter the line for this ride, for one small milisecond I'm back at MK. Then I realize I'm only at a cheap local amusement park.

I love this exact scent also!! I took it on our 2001 trip and now I bring it everytime. Unfortunately I think they may have discontinued this scent, at least in our area. I've tried 3 different B&B's in our area. Maybe I can order it from their website? I'll check into this....Thanks BahamasBride03 for the memory reminder!

For whatever reason the smell of ketchup reminds me of Cosmic Rays and whatever the smell is when you walk into the lobby at POP Century...oooh how I wish they could bottle that...

I know this is weird but honest to God........We just bought Wegmans brand dishwasher detergent last week, I turned the dishwasher before I went somewhere. I came back hom about 30 minutes or so and walked into the kitchen. I was like oh my God...I yelled for my DD 5, and I said do you smell Mexico? She said yeah....where is it coming from. I was in the kitchen trying to find the source of the smell..I found it....it was the dishwasher. I sware I was putting clean dishes in the dishwasher just so I can smell it again. My DH thinking we are both NUTS . I highly recommend you go to Wegmans and buy it. Let me know what you think. Oh by the way it is the liquid orange scent.

We went to the Disney Store and it smelled just like WDW- I can't explain the smell but it was just a disney smell. Then I forget where we were but it smelled just like the monorail- that's when I realized the monorail does has a funky odor!
