what size car?

we are a family of 4. 2 adults, 2 kids (8 and 12). We will most likely have 2 large suitcases and 2 medium sized ones, along with 4 carry ons. What size car should we rent? Would a full size car be enough or should we go for a SUV/mini van?

Most car rental websites have at least descriptions of what fits in each size vehicle - if not actual diagrams.

I would think you could all fit in a full size car.
