El Morro Castle is beautiful! There is another smaller castle that we did not do. I cannot remember the name. We also went over to the Bacardi Rum Distillery. I would not do that again, it was not bad, just one of those things where you been there, done that. The streets are beautiful too. There is a lot of shopping not to far from the port. We got into San Juan at night and pulling into port was Beautiful. El Morro Castle can be seen when coming in as was all lit up. I am sure it is just a pretty coming in during the day if that is when you will be arriving.

Since we went to San Juan as a last minute change, due to hurricanes, we weren't up to date on things to do there. We took a sigthseeing tour that wasn't too spectacular that ended at El Morro Castle. That was very interesting! And then the bus let us off in the main shopping area and we shopped and strolled back to the ship.
Our tablemates took the rainforest trip and said they enjoyed it very much. We docked on Monday night and some of our friends went to dinner and a casino. Everyone I talked to enjoyed the city.

When is Disney going to San Juan? We missed it in Sept and would love to go there but did not know it was a destination

We were on Carnival, but if you can book the rainforest tour it was awesome!!! One of the hightlights of our cruise for sure!!! It is so beautiful. Even if it is raining, dont be discouraged as the weather up there changes from moment to moment. We got caught in a pouring rain shower in part of it and then beautiful sunshine for the tour of the tower.

We strolled around..the area is beautiful...so old with tons of sculptures everywhere. We ended up strolling aound the shopping area...hitting some of the "outlet" shops like Polo and Coach...then made our way up to El Morro...back down for a quick stop at Ben & Jerry's for some ice cream...and back to the shopping area to pick up some souviners. We bought these hand made masks that are made out of gords. I would just LOVE to be able to go back and get more of them. On our way back we ran into a Starbucks :cool1: Which is just what we needed. Then wondered down to Hard Rock (they wern't open :guilty: )..then off to Senior Frogs for souviners. We docked around dinner time...and a few of us went out and had a good time at Senior frogs....that first night in San Juan...so we had to go back the next day and get some souviners. We wanted to go to a beach and have a nice beach day....but like Nancy mentioned (we were on the same Sept cruise) we wern't expecting to stop in San Juan so we didn't get much time to look into what there was to do. So when we stopped we didn't realize at that point that we were in "Old San Juan" and surrounded by a wall...so NO beaches. Our first stop was a tourest information shop...where we asked where and how we could find a beach..all he said was..Oh there are no beaches in San Juan...we should have asked more...because later we found out yes there are beaches...it is an island after all....we just would have had to take a taxi or something to get there. Any ways...we had a great time wondering around and seeing the city.

thak you everyone. this is carinal victory ouy of miami I didn't realized it docks at 5 at night

I would definitely suggest the El Morro tour, but I would pass on the Old/New San Juan bus tour. It was a lot of driving with only a couple stops, the last of which was El Morro. I felt that the bus tour did not allow us enough time to explore El Morro.

I wish we had time to plan our trip (we were re-routed there as well) because I would have loved to do the rainforest tour.
