What Should I Put in Our Carry-on Bags?

Taking all suggestions!

Here are the details:

-We are coming from chilly New Jersey (according to the weather sites I've checked, it'll be 20+ degrees warmer when we land than when we take off).

-Our plane lands around 10:30. I imagine we'll be at AKL by noon and don't assume our room will be ready. Would be nice if it was, though!

-We have a 2:20 ADR at Garden View Tea Room, and tickets to the last MNSSHP that night. I imagine we'll go straight from GF to MK.

We'll both have our laptops, and cameras... I just blanking out on what else to bring. Never used ME before, so I'm not used to having to have my essentials with me because the luggage won't be available until later. Change of clothes? Toothbrushes? Help!

I always carry whatever I need for that night - change of clothes, pj's, 3-1-1 bag with my bathroom stuff, toothbrush, deoderant. If I think I'll want to go swimming, I'll toss in my swimsuit and coverup. All electronics. Hairbrush and comb.

Since you are going to MNSSHP that night, you'll want your costume stuff in that carryon too if it will fit.

That's all I can think of off the top of my head.

I usually bring my camera, iPhone, book, make-up, and vacation credentials. I also bring any medication I am taking. I have never had any issues with ME getting my luggage there in a reasonable amount of time.

We're not wearing costumes to the party simply because we don't feel like we'll have the time. Plus our costumes were pretty complex this year, and there's no way I'm gonna make room in my suitcase for giant wings! (See my PTR for a pic *cough*shameless plug*cough*).

I guess I'm thinking we should have a change of clothes. Do people go to Garden View in shorts and t-shirts, or is it dressier? Would a sundress be more appropriate?

I just heard that the weather in Northern NJ is going to be terrible tomorrow. In my area, we are getting 5-8 inches of *SNOW* over the next 36 hours. Be sure to check with Newark before you leave.

We had the same schedule last Friday, except we did Cirque instead. I didn't get the text that our room was ready until around 4. Don't forget that bell services will store your carry on for you if your room isn't ready and you don't want to carry it with you. Have a great time! Tea was wonderful and I really enjoyed AKL.

Seasoned travelers will tell you to pack the essential things you need for the first 24 hours in your carryon. That's because airlines sometimes send your bags on the scenic route to your destination.

At an absolute minimum, put your medications, valuables and electronics in your carryon.

Yup, we're sitting here watching the snow. It'll be pretty amazing to be walking off the plane into almost 80 degrees in 3 days Hopefully by Tuesday all the delayed/canceled flights will be straightened out and our flight won't be effected at all

That's because airlines sometimes send your bags on the scenic route to your destination.

my luggage seems to go on the scenic route at least 50% of the time

Our first trip to disney (yaaa I was clueless), I forgot to pack toothbrushes in our carry on and pj's. I had kids with me and it took 5 or 6 hours (scenic route I guess) for the luggage to arrive. (finally showed up at 11 pm) I almost had to go shopping in the gift shop. So now I just use ME but pick up my luggage at the airport and put it on the ME bus.
