What should I do?

I need some suggestions on how to come up with enough pts to make this reservation work. I'm putting together a trip for my niece and both our families for her HS graduation in a couple of years. I'm planning early to make sure I have the right amount of pts needed. We will probably do about 4/5 nights at WDW and 4/5 nights at one of the Florida beaches during the month of June.

I own pts at BCV and BLT. My niece would like to stay at BLT since she's never stayed here before and it's close to the MK. I was thinking I would need either the Grand Villa (1st choice) or 2/1 or 2 BR villas. In order to make this trip work I would have to bank and borrow the next several years to have enough pts. I will have a total of 559pts to use.

Here's what I was thinking,
1) I could reserve at both BLT (SV or LV) and BCV at the 11 month period and then change the BCV reservation to BLT at 7 months to have everyone staying at the same resort. This would get me 2/1 or 2 BR villas.
2) For the GV, I could rent out my BCV pts and rent someone else's BLT pts having the pts transferred to my account in order to reserve at 11 months.
or
3) For the GV, I could trade my BCV pts for someone else's BLT pts. (is this allowed? trading pts with another owner), so I can make my reservation at 11 months.

What should I do or do you have any other suggestions that will get me the reservations I need for this trip. Thanks...

To me, the simplest way would be to get a transfer of BLT points into your account and reserve what you want at 11 months.

Then look for someone who wants a transfer of BCV points. Remember that you cannot transfer banked or borrowed points, and that you can only do one transfer into or out of your account per use year.

FWIW, I think getting BLT at 7 months is a bit risky, which is why I would do the transfer. That way you know you can get what you want, when you want (especially if you want or need standard view) and you will still have control of the reservation.

Good luck!

P.S. You'll need to do some detailed planning to make sure the BLT transfer points will be good for the use year that contains your desired reservation, and to do the transfer out of BCV points in a different use year from the BLT transfer (to get around the one transfer per use year rule).

Thanks Carol, I didn't think of that, it's one transfer per UY. I'm talking about doing 2 transfers in order to make this work. Now I have to go back to the drawing board and work my pts again. That's why I always plan early.

Also in your calculations remember transferred in points cannot be borrowed.

Another question,

I'd never worked with transferred pts before when making any of my reservations until now. Can transferred pts be banked? Let's say I have 2011 BLT pts transferred in from another owner's account but won't be using them until my 2012 UY, so I'll need to bank them for my reservation. Can I do this? I thought I read in the DVC book that I can bank transferred pts. At the same time I'll transfer my BCV pts into their account. That way I'll only be making 1 transfer per UY since I have 2012 & 2013 UY pts.

Thanks.

Yes, transferred in points may be banked, but not borrowed. I am a little confused how MS then sees those points. It is not clear to me that if you have 2011 banked into your 2012 UY you can then also transfer out your 2012 points. I think the assumption is you can, but I would check with MS to be sure.
