We are going to US for two nights in April. Mom, DH, Me and 4 yr old DS. Should we stay at the Best western, bus to US get a suite for about $100 a night or stay at Royal Pacific for $294 and have the express pass?
Please help me decide. Thanks!

Here is my 2 cents. Having a parent and a small child creates different needs for everyone. Being onsite means not only that you have FOTL, but it also means that it is a quick walk or boat ride back to the hotel for anyone who needs to leave early. Maybe Mom wants to go back to the room. She can do so without everyone having to leave. Maybe your son is having a bad morning and takes longer than you planned. Mom can always go do shopping in the parks or whatever and you can catch up with her later. It just leaves options to stay onsite. It is well worth the money for us to stay onsite. For only a few nights, I can do without the extra space if I had to just to get that added convenience of transportation for everyone involved.

well said.

I would stay on site. The FOTL access is priceless plus the resort is beautiful. We have stayed at the the Royal Pacific twice and Hard Rock once and have booked Portofino for this April.

It is so nice just to get up and walk right to the park also. We love Universal so much I find it hard to go to Disney now ans wait in the lines. You do get spoiled.

Good Luck with you decision. :goodvibes

We stayed offsite last April for a couple of days during Spring Break week. Holy Cow - what a mistake.

I found out that staying onsite is the way to go if you can find a room.

US wasn't so bad (an hour or less wait for most rides) but IOA had hour+ waits for almost everything. Express passes were sold out by the time we went to get some (about 10am). That FOTL pass you get from staying onsite sure would've come in handy.

Plus you have the added bonus of being able to split up easily. If someone gets tired or wants to go swimming, it's easy to go back to the room and the other people can still stay in the park and have fun.

It's worth the money to me to stay onsite from now on - I just booked RPR for a July 08 trip.

Good luck deciding!

I can't find a room now!
I have called the hotels direct and travel agents.
Anyone have any ideas?
