What should I do? ARs with sister or not...

Hi,

I need some opinions. I am going to Disney Nov/Dec. My sister will be there 5 of my 8 days. She's on the dining plan and I'm not.

She wanted to eat in a bunch of restaurants and character restaurants that I wasn't particularly interested in but was willing to do to eat with her.

Mind you, my 90 day mark is coming up (August 28) so I must figure this out soon.

Here's the problem/issue. My sister just informed me the day before yesterday that money is really tight since she just bought a house and changed jobs and 'might' have to cancel her trip. She won't know for awhile and is optimistic but not sure that she'll still go.

Well, what do I do about the ARs? Do I book ALL of them (even the ones I was only going to do because of her) on August 28? What about the princess ones that require a CC? What if she decides she can't afford it? It's not so easy changing the ARs from 7 people to 4 people, especially the most popular ones. They'd have to cancel the AR and try and rebook it.

Should I just book them all for 7 people and then try and change them to 4 if she doesn't come? Or just show up and say there's only 4 of us? Or tell my sister to book hers and I'll book mine, which means we won't sit together....

I'm so confused and I'm probably stressing for nothing. I know she's going to try her best to go since she's already bought the airfare and MVMCP tickets.

Oh boy. And why do I feel so guilty worrying about this in the first place?

I've already booked LTT for the MVMCP night for 7 people and that is booked solid so how can I change it to 4 people if I have to??

Couldn't you book the AR/PS for 7 people under your sisters name and then go ahead and book your own AR/PS for 4 under your own name and then once sister makes up her mind you can cancel one set of the AR/PS?

As for the one's you have to pay for - I think you get your money back if you cancel within a certain amount of time.

Just a thought. No flames please for suggesting a "double booking".

No Flames, I'm thinking of the happy family that planned a last minute trip that might get those ADRs. Could be me because we rarely plan a vacation more than 30 days out. I'm a last minute Disney Lover.

I booked our Sept trip in June and all this waiting is killing me. 24 days and counting.

You won't have any problems with your ressies for 7. When you check in just tell the CM that you only have 4 in your party. We went with our inlaws in Dec. and I didn't know which meals that they would join us. All of our ressies were made for 8. It wasn't a problem when we only had 6.

CRT is different because of the CC. I would probably have her make the ressie for 7 and you make one for 4. If she can't go then she will have plenty of time to cancel.

Thanks everyone for the replies. I really appreciate it.

I think I may just book them all for 7 and then do the pricesses where I book for 4 and she books for 7 and then cancel what we don't need once she knows whether she's going or not. She should know by October which is a month before the trip.
