OK here is my question,

If you are a teacher and you are paying into a retirement plan instead of having SS deducted from you paycheck, are you paying into a Sec. 501(c)(18) Pension Plan?

For example,

I have an annuity. In box 12 E it is showing the amount I paid towards it this year, but I am not seeing where I paid into my retirement fund.

Does anyone know how this works?

I am totally confused.

Thanks!

Connie

Your Pension should be listed under box 14.

Box 14 is blank

What I am noticing, however, is that my box 1 is the amount minus what was taking out for box 12a. box 1 plus box 12a total my medicare wages and tips, which is in box 5.

Box 1 should equal Box 5- Box 12 - Box 14. So if your Box 5 was 60,000 and Box 12 was 3,000 and pension contribution was 4,000 than Box 1 should be 53,000. If your Box 1 is not including your pension contribution you need to find out why not?
