What room for 2 adults and DD4 so DD can have her own bed

Generally when staying at a hotel, we get a room with 2 double beds, one for DH and I and one for DD. The problem with this is that a) usually this ends up being DD and I in one bed and b) DD has a tendency to fall out of bed at night. Recently we stayed at POP and due to overbooking we were put in a king room with a free rollaway. We LOVED this option. DH and I had a bed to ourselves with plenty of room and DD loved having her own special bed. But I just learned that this is not technically a "legal" configuration and we cannot book a room like this.

So where on WDW can we get a room that has a king or queen bed for DH and I AND where DD can also have her own "special" bed bed. It can be a rollaway or a daybed type thing.

Thanks!

Any of the deluxes would have two queens. Some have two queens and a day bed, others have a queen and a bunkbed.

Sorry I wasn't clear. I would prefer the bed for DD to be a "small" bed, like a daybed or a rollaway. She rolls out of bed a lot and I want to be able to put up either a bedrail on one side or have it be low to the ground so that it doesn't matter. She really liked having her own bed that was "her size".

Thanks!

The AKL has rooms with a king and a daybed.

All rooms at CR and Polynesian have two queens and a daybed with the exception of suites. Most rooms at the GF are this way too although I believe there are some with a king bed and I imagine a daybed though I'm not at all sure of that.

Some rooms at Y&BC have daybeds but most of those rooms also have two queens or doubles. I imagine they try to save the rooms with daybeds in that resort for families that need them because of 5 in a room or kids of both sexes, etc..

Good luck!

You can get bedrails from housekeeping. You can stay at POR ion the AB section, they have two double beds one with a trundle. BWI has daybeds too

We stayed at POP Memorial day weekend (all rooms in Disney were booked). I had no problem getting a bed rail. They even asked if I needed just one so you can get two. One for either side of the bed. So if they offer this service at a value, I'm sure you can get it at any WDW resort. Hope this helps.

When we have stayed in All Stars, we got the two doubles and pushed the one bed all the way up against the "bathroom" wall, then put the bed rails on the side and bottom of the bed... Viola! No falling out!

(And, I do know what you mean... We've awoken too many nights to the , "THUD!! .. pause.. SCREAM!!! Our DD is a big-time bed flopper!!!)

**Though, I think I read somewhere that the beds in POP are bolted down and can't be moved...

Depends on the price you want to spend and the facilities at the resort.

Deluxes - Poly, CR, GF all have 2 queens and a daybed (ask for side rails) or king and daybed (ask for rails). WL & AKL have 2 queens, king or queen and bunkbed
More restaurants, better transporatation, pools with views, water falls, zero entries, wate slides. Room service, taxi's waiting, child care facilities, better front desk for information....

Moderates - all double beds (ask for rails) - outside walk from your room to anywhere in the resort, decent transportation, pools have a slide, 1 snack area, some have a restaurant (CSR, POR), open closets, smaller rooms than deluzx...

Value - all double beds(ask for rails) - out side walk from your room to anywhere in the resort, crowded transportation, pools have themeing, no pool slides, open closets, snack bar, smallest rooms of all the resorts, limited amenities at froint desk. Not sure if you get Mickey soaps/shampoo or if it is squirt containers attached to the shower wall.

If you can swing it - I would go with the deluxe - :dog: Does DD like animals ? - do AKL - wonderful zero entry pool, places to see the animals (night goggles in your room) even if you do not have a Savanah view room. Night time stories around the campfire. Can get DD's hair braided at the pool. Bus to every park - but only used by AKL - so very fast and 'private' feeling.
You can ask for a queen and bunkbed - get the bed rails - DD sleeps in bottom bunk - use top bunk for suitcases.

We are staying at AKL and WL next year when our DD will be 4. At AKL, some rooms feature one queen size bed with bunk beds and there are 79 king bed rooms with a seperate daybed. At WL, most rooms have 2 queen size beds and some offer a queen-size bed and 1 bunk bed and they also have a few king bed rooms with a seperate daybed.

We plan on asking for the rooms with the bunkbeds. The pictures of the rooms show the bunkbeds having rails on the top, but not the bottom, so Athena will probably sleep on the top. She also thought the pictures of the daybed were cool, so we might change our mind by then and go with that. Hope this helps!

Sheesh, this is the most biased post ever! Your deluxe review compared to the value review is totally slanted! I don't think you can say that the deluxes have a better front desk, nor can you say that the transportation at values is more crowded than anywhere else. It's simply not true.

(And btw, at Pop you do get Mickey soaps.)

Beds DON't move at POP - seriously hurt myself last year trying to move it because we typically moved the bed against the wall at the AS hotels and got 2 bed rail as suggested. Not a good thing.

To the OP - figure out your budget for a room first then decide where to get a seperate bed.

There are some room at POR that have a KING bed in them. Perhaps you can get that and request a roll-away for your DD. I know when my sister stayed at PORFQ with her DH and DS, they had two double beds and a roll-away. :)

Thanks for the info. The bunkbed option at WL sounds fun, maybe I will check that out.

We've been to Disney lots and stayed at all levels, but POP in July was our first trip since DD really started sleeping in her own bed and having definite opinions about where she sleeps LOL! Normally we just get the 2 doubles and deal with it, but discovering there were options made me wonder what other types of things were available.

We have the budget for a deluxe, but don't typically spend that much by choice. We had been thinking about POFQ. But the idea of being able to get a king for us and then a rollaway or daybed for DD has become very appealing. This will be for a long weekend type trip, so maybe we'll splurge a little and look into deluxes.

Thanks!
