Just wondering, what rides can you NOT carry a DSLR (in a camera bag) on? Some are obvious, like the water rides, but what other rides make it impossible to carry a camera bag? Thanks.

Thanks for the reply. Do you mean that you just typically leave the camera on its neck strap, or do you hold your camera bag during the ride?

I would wrap the neck strap around my wrist & hold tight. My next trip I bought a wrist strap.

There is only 2 ride my camera goes into the bag Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster and Sorin. I was stopped on Sorin with my camera & RNR has to fast of a take off. My camera is water resistant so I don't worry about water rides.

Nice shot of Space Mountain... I might have to try that one myself... :)

You can bring your equipment on every ride at WDW with a qualification for Soarin. You can't have it in your hands but if it fits under your seat you are fine. As far as everything else you can carry it on the ride. With the rollercoasters, I place my bag on the floor of the car looping the strap around my leg. With the camera itself I just hold on to it. On the wet rides, the same as the roller coasters with the bag and I will hang on to the camera, however, even though my bodies are WR, I will protect them by placing them under my shirt or covering it with my arm at the moment we hit the water.

Splash Mountain is fun to photograph.

For Soarin', if you're bag is too big to fit under the seat there are areas marked off on the floor to leave your bag. I leave my bag there, but keep my camera with me.

Thanks for the help everyone. I got this bag to carry my stuff in, so hopefully it won't be too bulky. http://www.lowepro.com/passport-sling-feature

After the comments posted above, I'm wondering what to do with my camera/bag on the Soarin' ride. Are you allowed to take a camera, as long as it's in the bag?

I have this bag and love it!

I no longer use a neck strap for my camera, just a wrist strap (for security/safety) .
When I don't need my camera, it just 'drops' into this bag through the opening in the top. The bag hangs at waist height and can swing around the body depending on your carrying style.

At WDW I often didn't take the bag off me - just swung it around to my front and then sat on the ride.

Re soarin, - you just store your camera bag under the seat in the netting provided. (Also on Star Tours)

Thanks for the bag review! :) I saw the bag at Best Buy yesterday, but ordered it from Amazon since it's quite a bit less expensive there. I didn't have my camera (Sony A7) with me at Best Buy to try it in the bag, but it does look like it will be a good fit and leave me room for some personal items. I just don't like that the outer pockets don't close. I might try putting some peel n' stick velcro on them to remedy that problem.

So, your bag comfortably fit in the nets for Soarin' and Star Tours?
