What rides/attractions was your 1.5-2 year old afraid of?

My DS didn't start to get afraid of the rides until about 2, maybe 2 1/2...at 20 mos, we could do most rides that didn't have a height restriction. He did find some of the rides intense, but it wasn't until a little later when he would put his foot down and out and out refuse to go on anything!

Good luck!

My DD didn't care for Snow White, It's tough to be a Bug, or The Great Movie Ride (I had forgotten about the part with the movie Alien... oops). None truly scared him though.

When we went in January my 4yo (autistic) son HATED the great movie ride. When they stopped the car and started shooting at each other he was yelling GO GO GO!!!

My DS was 17 mo for our last trip. He was one of those kids that wasn't scared of any of the rides. We basically rode everything we could with him. I hope he has the same laid back attitude when we return in December. He will be 2 1/2.

I would say in MK avoid Peter Pan and Winnie the Pooh. My DS 4 when he was 2 1/2 freaked out on these rides. But then again, I think it has to do alot with the personality of the child. My other DS 2 now is a lot more fearless in general with things, but I don't have experience with rides for him b/c of my older son's limits on rides so we don't go on them with him.

I would probably say any ride that is inside that gets dark or is SLOW be very careful going on. Alot of kids at this age do get freaked out, and if it is slow, it will be a VERY unenjoyable experience for you:sad2:

My sons always like Dumbo, the carousel, Alladdin in MK. The monorail is always fun. And try the train that circles MK as well.

There were a bunch that freaked him out at 2.5yrs old. The one that surprised me the most I didn't even find out about until 6 months after we got back. Getting ready for bed my just turned 3 year old was recalling snippets from our trip 6 mo. earlier and he said he didn't like the dolls with the blinky eyes! After a few more questions we concluded he was incredibley afraid of the Small World ride! Isn't that always the sure thing with little kids, innocent and cutesy, dancing dolls. Who knew the terror that lurked within as I 'forced' him to ride it 3x's that trip. Look out for the blinky-eyed dolls!

I forgot to mention that the Unofficial Guide to WDW has a good section on what rides are potentially frightening for little ones.

Love reading all these replies since we will be bringing our little one down when they are about that age as well. :thumbsup2

The first time we went was when DD was 4 1/2, she HATED Honey I Shrunk the Audience. She has not wanted to watch it since and we've been two more times and are going again this October. I asked her just yesterday if she will please watch it when we go in Oct. She said she would try and she'll be 11. She liked everything else when she was 4 1/2.

My ds hated all the 3-D/4-D type movies ie ITTBAB (AK), Mickey's Philharmagic (MK), HISTA (EPCOT) at that age (after about 3-1/2yrs it wasn't a problem though). He pretty much liked everything else. He's always been more adventurous in general.

On our first Disney trip w/ our boys were 2yrs2months and 1yr3months, and they did everything that they could for their height requirements. The only thing my youngest was most freaked out about was the Dumbo/Triceratop Spin/Magic Carpets. He didn't cry, he just didn't have fun. My boys are very adrenalline driven, so they love all rides. I think that it depends on the child, I know kids who are the same ages as my sons, and they are much, much more tame!

DS was 17 months when we went. He went on everything allowed and loved everything except Snow White... :confused3 I guess the trees were spooky or something. Haunted Mansion didn't phase him.
