What restrictions are there on food/coolers?

We are taking our second trip to DL in a couple of weeks and last time we had an infant and could still barely pack our drinks and lunch in a small mini cooler we have that we stowed in the stroller basket. This time we have more mouths to feed and I'm considering taking a bit of a larger cooler with a strap to hang over the stroller.

Anyone know if there are size restrictions? Asking because last time we were there there was a guy in line who had a HUGE cooler with wheels on it and the staff made him actually rent a stroller to put it in.

Also, what kind of restrictions are there on food items brought in? Last time we brought in bagles, string cheese, juice, snacks, etc, but I'm not sure if they just let us do that because of the baby or not. There was some gal trying to take in a pizza in a box and I'm remembering that she wasn't allowed to do that.

Also, if we do go with a larger cooler, how big are the lockers? it might be an idea to put it in there until lunch.

Thanks for any ideas or suggestions! We're getting excited!

As for the food, there pretty much isn't enforced restrictions unless you bring in anything glass. I brought in a box of pizza before (it was a small box, left overs from Naples in DTD) and they didn't tell me anything. When we went 2 weeks ago, DBF's parents brought in a half empty half gallon thing of milk and they weren't told anything.

For the coolers, I know they need to be soft sided. I don't believe hard coolers are allowed. And they can't be on wheels. Disney doesn't want anything brought in that needs to be pulled behind someone. I'm not sure what the size restrictions are, but I know there is one. Maybe someone else knows.

Items with wheels, such as wagons, skateboards, scooters, inline skates, shoes with built-in wheels, two-wheeled or three-wheeled conveyances, strollers larger than 36" x 52", suitcases, coolers, or backpacks with or without wheels larger than 24" long x 15" wide x 18" high (coolers required for medication may be stored in a locker or at Guest Relations), and any trailer-like object that is pushed or towed by an ECV wheelchair or stroller
That is the rule.

As for food if it is for medical, religious or allergies then anything not in glass is allowed. I have heard they dropped the no bringing in dinners rule a while back. It is impossible to enforce as a guest can say they are going to store the food in the lockers. Head to the lockers and maybe even leave the food there then come back later and sneak it in.

A little over a week ago we brought in a totebag size soft sided cooler daily for 6 days; filled with 12 bottles of water, 2 canned sodas and 2 redbulls and they just looked and we took it in. I thought it was too big but we shoved it in the bottom of the stroller. We also took a backpack with all the babies stuff, formula, food snacks and "diaper items". Never tried any real food. :)

Thanks so much for the info! We do have a soft sided one, not too large, but it will probably do.

How big are the lockers? How much are they? I seem to remember them on mainstreet, my not too sure on that.

Thanks to all you DIS pros!

I also read that the cooler couldn't be bigger than a six pack of coke. You can store it in the lockers outside of DL. This was according to DL's website.

We took in food and water most days. We never got questions and we brought in:
Bottles of soda and water
Cans of Pringles
Made up sandwiches and buns
Packets of biscuits

I believe you can take anything in so long as no glass and no big coolers
